Other NSW dealers (Sys and Capital at Orange) are the same price as Blacktown. I have compared the Sydney dealers Trivetts, Sys, Frasers and Blacktown recently for a few parts of my own and found them to be exactly the same price. wasn't always the way but has been for the last couple of years.

Get a price off HH, they are always great to deal with and normally the cheapest even allowing for postage (at least in my experience).

Maybe the Brissy shop loaded the wrong price.

yet, when i priced a set of saddlebags for my Xl at harley blacktown they were 100 bucks more then some other places...

i got close to $500 bucks of parts from harley haven late last year, and thay where on par with us prices and about $80 bucks cheaper to my door than one of the local perth dealers harley haven for me for now on .

Probably best not to mention names, but a mate of mine is in "da management" of a HD store where I live. He told me that the franchisees have the right to set their own prices - it's not dictated by HD HQ like I always assumed it would be.

Also, they don't have to get all their kit from HD Australia. Some if it comes direct from the US so that impacts their margins.

So basically, each official HD store sets their own prices depending on what they buy at and what they think their local market can support. Same as any independent business really!

I have been quoted by HH on a couple of items which I could buy from my local Perth dealer. What I did appreciate is not just the cheaper price ( to my door) but the fact that I then received a call from a bloke , whose name I do not recall, to discuss the install and other associated parts. It certainly did not come across as another sales pitch to get more business but a genuine bit of customer service.

They are definitely on the money and I will happily empty my pockets their way because that to me is how it should be done.

I'm also from the West, I did give the local HD dealers a go, but they weren't interested in matching Sam at Harley Heaven prices, now I just call him, parts delivered to my door, no standing around in a HD store whilst the staff do their best to ignore you then tell you it will be 3 weeks ex- eastern states anyway.

Only ever had one problem with an order and they rectified it. I recommend them and it takes a lot for me to recommend anyone.

Just over a year ago went through the whole process of pricing a bunch of stuff out of the States including a "kit" which was more than $1k. By the time I added various freight charges and GST (kit only) it was not worth the hassle and time. Less than $200 on $2.8k in parts and supporting local jobs. The place was HH Adel. Don't be scared to ask for discount.

get to know your local harley dealer (not harley heaven) and you'll get the best prices and service..  Not only that but you'll be helping the small guy

well ive never bothered ringing around 4 prices that was untill hd M&W GOLD COAST changed ownership 2 team moto company and priceing of parts seemed 2 av leaped up,so i checked out sys on internet u can put part no. in push button an price is there i av parts manual so i no part no. unless its part not listed then i ring an if 2 busy guy saz weel ring bak which they did 2 my surprise and i saved nearly 300 dolas an thats delivered 2 my door ,hd gold coast is outa touch how can same parts cost 300 more dats rippin 2 da max an never buyin from there again .last week i wanted 2 buy tank badges as ive seen ones i liked an i want em there is heaps u can buy from here or internet but emblem i want is exspensive an hard 2 get apparently, well on ebay mob in states would put em at door 4 271 dolas an only 2 sets left and oem parts ,i rang sys an asked about badges he said u cant buy those there restrikted only 4 owners of that model an u av 2 av proof reg no. engine purchase details bla bla bla ,i had also known of this then i said there on ebay now from hd shop in us ,so he does check an saz well u can buy them so he checked an there in stock 2 sets left i saz i want one please and did deal an cost 198 dolas 2 my door i saved 73 dolas an part was here in aus seems like aussie prices on hd parts better than importing a part thats if u buy from write shop ,a phone wat a wonderfull thing saves u money wen u now who 2 ring SHINGLES

Give the guys at Quickfix in Mildura a call, I have found them better than HH on pricing and servicing..

You can pay big bucks for a certain gram steak in one and a hugely different price in another. Anyone can charge what they want. Up to you if you think its a good deal or not. depends on there turnover and local demographic. Its been shown on tv that Woolies in a higher income demographic charge more than Woolies in a lower income demographic.
