Bike wont start? This could be the reason

You probably already know this stuff.... but it was all new to me and may help someone else if their bike wont start and you have no idea why .... i.e if the lights start flashing but the starter wont engage and you have your security fob near the bike -

    1) check the battery in the Fob hasn't moved and/or is flat -

    2) also check to see some smart arse hasn't turned it up the wrong way and put it back in your fob just to mess with you (should be no writing visible on battery when fob is opened up)

    3) If you do change the Fob battery (like a big hearing aid battery ) make sure it is the same Voltage as the original .. they all look the same but they're not (mine's 3volt and it doesn't work with a 1volt)

if you're interested in more detail/videos etc and /or you tried the above but ti still wont go.... there might be one more step you need to do so you can go here coz a) I'm slack and b) I'm about as good at posting pics and videos on different forums as I am at fixing bikes...I get there .. but it takes me forever

    Cheers

I'd start with making sure you have the right battery in there.

You want the CR2032 Battery, any other Battery in there will cause problems.

yep yer absolutely right ... Allde

They all "look" the same ..but it's gotta be that specific battery model for the fob -

Retroman was good enought to set me right on that part -

In my case the bloody thing still wouldnt start..... so thats' why I had to go the extra step - but in most people's case it will just be the fob battery
