    Hi All,

I am sure these questions have been asked before but here I go.... I own a 2012 roaddking and as I am thinking of going stage one I was talking to a HD savvy mechanic about it as for me that is an air filter of some sort (I have V&H monster oval slipons already)....

I was advised to get a fuel commander type module as well as the filter but after doing some googling I came across articles that suggest a download remap to the standard efi computer is the better option over the fuel controller and to make sure HD do the work so any thoughts people I know this is a can of worms regarding the fuel commander but what is better value, works better etc.

    Thanks for your time.....

I can see a big blue coming on here but here we go..........

I have a power vision and find it relativly straight forward. There are a few good people that can assist you with good advise and even send you some tunes to try as well as modify. Happy to help if thats your choice, it even has a Auto tune function now.

thanks guys. I had a google of the PV and it seems a pretty good device, and I found a map for what I will have fitted so that would be straight forward, I am assuming that once you install a fuel controller you dont need to dynotune?.... how does the Power Vision compare in price to others? and where should I look to purchasing a PVision here in Oz (and who from) or the states?  Though one thing I noticed watching the PV sites videos was that the unit marries to your ECM does that mean it will not then go on another harley ECM ever (just in case I sell or stack the bike, heaven forbid!)

Thanks again for the time to look and answer these questions.

yep thats it mate, one pv per bike. just seen a fella on this forum supplying the pv units for pretty much the going rate. alternatively you can get from the states via dynojet themselves or fuel moto.

i highly recommend fuel moto. got mine from there. when ordering tell them your set up and they will load your custom map onto unit ready for flashing when it arrives to your door. their after sales is brilliant also. cost me just under 500 to my door.

Sorry lads but NOT TRUE. You can get on to Power vision and they will sell you an unlock code $195.00 US and that will alow you to take to your next bike or share with your mate. Have had 3-4 tunes from Jamie at Fuelmoto and each one was so so, had to do my own in the end. Check out my  Best AFR thread for more info

Wow! I am now one well informed dude eh! thanks guys though an extra $195 seems a bit much for re owning the unit but I guess cheaper than having to buy another one......... and have been browsing the efi section as suggested but bugger me I came across a post by kiwiRob that said "First off, you have an early Twin Cam without 02 sensors so XiEd from Night Rider maybe the go for you if you’re intending to up-grade to just slip-ons/pipes & AC". (though I have a 2012 roadking with O2 sensors)

and I have XiEd's already fitted, so if I dont do any other mods other than the pipes and add a bigger airflow air cleaner would this be a good alternative to a fc? Okay so I went to the nightrider website and it is indeed the case, if I only do the A/C kit and slip on mufflers then I do not need to get a fuel controller or get my bike remapped as the AFR (air fuel ratio) is suffient .... so I will give it a try!

** 6/2/2013  I emailed the people at Nightrider for a bit more information and they assured me I did not need anymore than their product to keep the Air Fuel Ratio working at a good level so I have installed the SE Air Cleaner Kit and it seems good so far as the end of the pipes are still a nice dark colour, though I have a 800km ride coming up this weekend so will know more by then I reckon.
