Anyone had any experience good, bad or otherwise with Patriot Defender 2 into 1 exhaust? They look great (to my eyes) and I like the idea of being able to adjust the sound level.

    Cheers,

    Chris.

Chris you know my thoughts on this exhaust but not aware of any (common) use of this pipe in Australia. Try having a search on the Yankee hd site hdforums.com to see their reports/reviews. That's what I looked at before I bought mine

Yes, just looking to get another opinion or two... I seem to have talked ol' mate on ebay to ship me a set. $295.00 US plus freight..... thinking about a long AND a short set at that price!!!!! I have read a bit about them on a couple of US forums but thanks anyway.

Chris dunno if you've read this thread but the Patriot Defender did bloody well (open valve) on an 883/1250. It's the XL version of course but it's an indicator they're putting some R&D into their pipes.

No worries Chris. If you're planning on buying direct from Patriot, I don't think they ship to Australia. Hammer Performance are a dealer for Patriot now, try them if you have any probs, their customer service is top notch..

Have you installed this exhaust yet? How do you like it?

Hook, I'm in (north side) Canberra if you're interested in the patriot defender exhaust. I have the short one in black with chrome heatshields on my fat boy. Really happy with it all round. Given the noise adjustability, I really am surprised more people don't consider or use this pipe.

Thanks for the reply, im waiting on mine to get here. I know my SE's are to loud and was looking for a 2-1 for my bike and came across the Patriots but really cant find much on them. How long have you had yours on for?

I have just installed mine. They look great, sound great and are a stepped header which is good for power too.
But they do sit fairly low so will scrape a fair bit.

For the price i don't think you can go wrong!

Thats goibg to stink if they hang that low. I have scraped the left side already, but your right about the price!

I had mine on for over a year now. Quiet as oem exhaust when closed and nice and deep but not obnoxiously loud when open. Good power and sufficient back pressure to make it responsive down low and in midrange as a good 2-1 system should. Finish is still perfect. Exhaust flap opens and closes just as easy as it did from day one. No scraping issues on my fatboy. My footboards would probably scrape first. Not as low as my v&h big radius 2-2 pipes which scraped. What length and colour did you buy hooknit?

I just finished opening them. I got the shorter ones in stainless. They seem well made well mess with them tomorow maybe. Had to put new  throttle cables on today and have to get new battery tomorrow as well.

I couldn't get all chrome at the time so settled for black and chrome. Keen to see the all chrome pipe on yours once its fitted. Could swap you the black and chrome if you prefer?!

Didn't end up getting them..... yet. Had a couple of very expensive court cases sprung upon me by the ex, so have to wait awhile before I invest in a new exhaust. Very interested to hear your opinion after having them on for a while, still want to get a set, just not yet...

I like mine so far but i scraped the bottom a bit. Thought i may have been aired down to much but after looking an messing in garage i think i caught the edge of a round about. There not really loud unless you are half throttle or more and in its a$$.
