Bought a second hand pair of Vance & Hines straight shots for my bike. Tried to fit and they wont. Old mate didnt have or send the brackets

Perfect fit my ass, it they were made for a perfect fit they would not need the bracket.

Dont supose anyone has spare brakets out there for 09 Sporty ??

You're blaming V&H because your mate didn't give you the brackets? Harsh.
Maybe contact some wreckers? You need someone who's stuffed there pipes in a crash.

I'm not blaming anyone, as the subject suggests, I'm pissed off that a company who claims their product is built for a perfect fit needs a bracket to bolt onto a bracket that is bolted to the bike.

If it was built to fit perfectly, it would just bolt on.

And their packing list of items contained in the box doesn't even have the bracket included..................................

What pisses me off is when I'm waiting in the express lane to purchase groceries, along comes The Smoker, waits on the other side of the counter and gets served before me.

couldn't be fucked downloading the full instruction sheet but here's a grab that mentions the brackets several times. Couldn't actuall imangine a muffler not having some form of support bracket given the length and weight of it.

Then again I could be wrong

Ozy, you cant really be that naive.

If anyone thinks that a perfect fitting item is one that needs to to be bolted to a bracket that itself needs to bolted to another bracket that is bolted to the bike needs their head read.

Just have the item bolt up to the bracket on the bike. Geez its not rocket science.

Read the guide properly.
Attach muffler to bracket.
Slide on and attach muffler brackets to the stock mounting bar.

WTF my old pipes bolted up to the stock mounting bar, but these perfectly engineered VH mufflers need a bracket between. Looks like a quick fix and not a perfect fit.

I hate it when new guys on the forums dont use the search function, and you get the same questions being asked week after week....

I agree with the OP in the fact that they should not have a bracket bolted to another bracket bolted to the bike. It should be of a singular design, that contours and flows to the lines of the intended mounting place, and be visually and aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

Yeah and I would like my knob sucked daily - but we can't have everything we want!!

Like buying a part that says it fits and dosent, buying HD valve ext caps that leak, volvo drivers in hats, Harley Assist that cant assist.
But just like the Harley assist thread, there are pricks in here that would prefer to hang shit on fellow forum members than directing their anger towards those who really deserve it.

Nomada you are right! With life being so full of political correctness where no one can say anything incase it offends someone else we have lost our identity as Aussies where we can call a spade a spade. We all share a common passion but will disagree on how we aprouch our riding or maintenance issues. At the end of the day most riders will stop and assist you regardless of what you ride or how much crap you have put on someone on a thread. Dont take it personally

Getting a quote for a green slip that said $605 only to go online to find the same insurer saying I only have to pay $469. WTF!!!! How many people would they catch who just look at the renewal and just pay it. $136 times a few chumps is nice coin if you can get it.
