Thundermax and HD Security

     Evening,

I've had a search and I've been reading nearly all threads available but haven't managed to find if my question has been asked yet, so here goes:

Just bought Thundermax for my '09 Night Rod which ill fit up onc my exhaust arrives. I currently don't have any kind of security on the bike and I'm looking at getting a HD Smart Security kit, maybe adding a siren.

just wondering how others using the tmax and installed themselves went with the factory security or adding security afterwards? Do all standard functions of the security system work straight up after swapping out the factory ECM for the tmax, in particular the starter kill & immobilization?

ive emailed thundermax direct and they've assured me that it should work fine, I asked if I'd need to install security first or if it could be added after and they said either should be fine too. I'm just cautious of the whole 'marrying' of the FOBs to the ECM once the security unit is installed, no use putting in tmax, then a security system only to find out I can't marry the fob to the unit and lose the immobilizer function I'm installing the security unit for....

keen to hear from self installers with security and if they had any trouble or if it just works. Even more keen to hear from anyone who installed tmax and afterwards installed HD securirty :)

I posted this in the 1130cc forums as well and got a lot of good responses about how the Thundermax hasn't interfered with anyone else security, but the most helpful was the member that advised that the FOB marrying is to the TSSM, and not the ECM.

So my doubts have been dispelled, I'm off to find myself a decently priced security unit for my bike :)

(Oh and thanks Baloffski, I'm pretty keen to get the Tmax on my bike, but I need to wait for my exhaust to turn up too, then it's GO TIME!)

Ok so I got my security system off ebay, tried to plug in today, but as soon as I try and start the bike I've got the security light on and the 4 way flashers going. Ignition is dead so I assume the system needs to be reset, but I'm not sure how :(

    Any advice?

The TSSM needs to be programed by a HD dealer with a HD digital technician computer to scan the fobs inscripion into the TSSM.

Thanks HogBag. Been doing some reading and got a few responses over at 1130cc so I've made an enquiry with the local dealer to have them work the magic required, just have to wait until that can fit me in :(
