Well our 2000klm ride over two days is done and dusted. The original 15 bikes ended up being eight but a mix of really good blokes so nothing much lost. Aside from the 45degree heat the ride was totally unaventfull and lovely Hebel (Qld) lived up to its reputation of being very quiet and with only 27 residents hard to be anything other.
I can highly recommend the General store and the owners Barb and Ralph for their outstanding hospitality and excellent meals. They also put us up in accomodation that was clean and comffy and aircond but as you can well imagine only lowered the temp to around 35 degrees inside!
Going home was challenging with the heaviest ever recorded rainfall cutting the road back to Dalby forcing me to run the fast flowing washout that was about halfway up the pannier on my 2012 street glide. Got about halfway before the motor died so a very difficult anf dangerous push got me through. Did not realise V&H pipes could hold that much water! Bike started instantly and took a few minutes to pump what seemed like 50litres of water out the back.
Smooth run all the way back to Sunny Coast with the odd burst up to 180-190 but with the condition of the roads 120-140 was the more preffered cruise speed.
With the Power Vision running it told me that we averaged 5.2 litres per 100klm so not bad considering the odd 180+ burst as well as having to run std unleaded for a few tanks due to availablity.
So if you plan a trip to Hebel the general store is a must and a meal and a chat with Barb. Just be very mindfull of the heat as two of the group suffered heatstroke and had to cut the ride short. Not fun at anytime but even more dangerous on the bike.
Sunny coast to Cooktown is the next ride

Great effort , well done .
Seriously though... good job!
Not sure why it stopped to be honest. As the exhausts were about 20cm underwater for approx 80meters and i was slipping the clutch but think its like jamming a cloth up the exhaust while its running will slowly choke the motor
Gold !!
This is the video link of the crossing an hour or so after we went through. This is the remaining bikes who waited for the creek to drop a bit before they crossed.

"Ahh Fuck" So funny, funniest thing I've heard on these forums.
This is the link for when the 'Soft poofs" pushed their bikes through the water.
