(yes, I know I should use a tender so I don't get a flat battery, but I ride regularly, not a weekend warrior)

" So what was the problem with it then Roddo " , obviously a problemo , shouldn`t of it come with a tender , anyway " it shouldn`t go flat ", If ya ride regularly , how does a 2011 battery , which was obviously ok prior to ya fishin trip , die in just the 2 weeks , the " Manual " says it takes about " 3 months " of no use before ya would cop a bat flattery , also say`s that the batteries are sealed , are pre tested and come fully charged as so this exact type o`thing don`t happen to their new HD Motorcycle puchasers (like ya say , not good for the rep), probably shouldn`t say it , but both mine havn`t had a prob in over 3 ana 1/2 years ?
Read here abouts of some OEM batteries lasting up to 6-7 years hey !
There is actually quite a write up about em in the battery section of the Manual !
    jus sayin`?
As for Harley Assist , ya think that they would specialise in being able to provide common bike assistance , but like Holden Assist and others , they just outsource the job to the nearest and available service "most times" anyway , but ya would expect them to be qualified and competent in most things mechanical including bike battery R&R or even boostin it to get ya going , the OME batteries have usually got plenty of kick , so did it light up the reds or was it completely fucked when ya turned the ignition on , though i`d invest in a tender and volt metre anyway if ya havn`t already hey , the bike shoulda come with one ?
    Seems weird ?
Yeah either way , ya gotta nominate ya rego`s with one of the road services if ya want that service hey , never used it in years but know the second i cancel it it will be the day something goes wrong and ya would be stranded some place and would have to re-join anyway hey ?
Let us all know what the problem was , when ya find out hey ?
Hope it nothin serious man !

Really it all boils down to just get RACV or NSW QLD or whatever, then your cars can be added to the assistance for just a bit extra, imagine adding your Falcon to the Harley Assist, what a laugh. I got a belt break on the Monash f/way at 8.30 am on a Monday Morning once, went ot the freeway assistance phone, I got signed up to the RACV in a few minutes & they had a tow truck around in 15 to 20 min with a nice Islander boy to take me to the Harely place in Melb so that I could get stiched up there.

Mate, you didn't add any value to this thread.

But FYI, Harley head office called me today. They are taking up the issue with Allianz in Queensland.

Morgan & Wacker have replaced my battery under warranty, no charge.

Happy to scan and upload the no cost invoice.

Gentlemen(?)...Gave Harley Assist away because it was cheaper overall to go with RACV Gold. Bike broke down ;) at Bright during a five day blat. RACV arrived in about 15-20 mins, realised bike wasnt going anywhere & arranged a table top truck to pick it up. Truck arrived shortly afterwards, & while being loaded, the driver, with the RACV Gold assist line, arranged for the bike be returned to Warragul in Gippsland, gave me a hire car to finish the last 2 days of the trip I was on, & picked the car up from my place when the bike was delivered on my return. Didn't cost me a cent & the service was un bloody believable. 5 stars from my point of view.

What is "TACT"?  Some of these fucking clowns should not even own a lawnmower and learn about their bikes and only then can they have a true interpretation of what it is like to be a motorcyclist ! They shit me

It was about the oxymoronic service of Harley assist. I just wanted a jump start because I paid for  'assist'.

Obviously, many of this forums members consider themselves too tough to have roadside assistance. Fine, but don't wave the fuckin' hankie you wear around your neck to look like Peter fuckin' Honda next time you have a flat! I'll be lookin' the other way.

Well it was kinda funny that you ended up getting your bike towed away for a flat battery. And you know what, regardless what sort of a bloke you are most people including myself will always stop and assist a brother even if he has had his ego damaged! Lets go and have a latte and talk about your damaged ego, you can always trailer your bike if its a bit wet for you.

And he got a free battery out of it which ment the battery was fucked.

If he jumped it, it sure as shit wouldnt hold charge and be flat again soon after.

Ha Ha easy to see who would get their bike towed rather than jump it. What did we do before roadside assistance......did we just leave it in the shed and cry?

Im tipping Pauly is the kind of guy who talks shop, but actually payed someone to do most of the work on his bike

That is exactly the problem.........when someone like you thinks that jump starting a bike is "talking shop" then we really are in mechanical trouble.

God forbid that you would have to change a fuse....

Just thought you might like to have a look at last weeks 2000klm two day ride. Not many( any) shops out there or even mobile reception so guess your point is a bit lame
