Hey was lookin ta see if I could get some info on my softail deuce , it's a 2001 88 cube carberator , it has cams and a muconi carb, stock air filter and slip on exhaust, I don't notch about a carberator bike, but the 2 things that I feel shouldent be happening is
the bike only sometimes back fires put of the carb? Is that normal?
and the other is once I start my bike when I first go to ride it it start perfect idles well but once I have let it warm up for 5 min I hop on ta start riding and for the first 4 min of riding there is hardly no power to the bike and then all of a sudden it kicks in and is fast and takes of well and then is fine for the rest if my ride, once I turn it of an hope back on within a short time it's still goes good , but if I leave it long and hope on ta go again it's slow again till it like warms up, is this normal please help
I assume you mean Mikuni, check the link attached. Sounds like an air leak to me but they also mention a blocked pilot jet. http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=what%20causes%20backfire%20through%20carburetor&source=web&cd=4&cad=rja&ved=0CE4QFjAD&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mikuni.com%2Ftg_backfires_through.html&ei=N87_UJjNJM7CkQXS64HABQ&usg=AFQjCNHrX6iYwLU8ymjqKOdgzdDNWpslOg
