Hi guys, I've just bought a 3" extension kit for my forward controls, I was just wondering if anyone has ever fitted these before? I need to know the size of the torx adapter to remove the screws holding the mounting plates to the frame because the ones I have are all to small. Cheers.

Take the bike to whatever shop you're buying from and ask them to get you the right one. Check the prices first (as some are shocking) but buy a good brand - in my kit I bent two bits, and shredded a bolt just as a third snapped. I bought a set of Kincrome ($28 for 10ish) and they worked well for me. The fucked head needed old school persuasion to remove...I live and learn. Be aware they are usually glued in with blue loctite.

I tossed all the bolts and replaced them with allen key headed bolts.

I got a set of torx from the stealers, bent type like alen keys, think they were about $12 from memory, used most of them and never had one slip yet.

There's a tool shop at paddys market on main north road.. You might find a set there at a decent price.
I also saw a set at Bunning a few weeks ago.

I've got a small set but only go to T40 if it helps.
