Hi,
I recently fitted some new pipes on my FLD as I wasnt real keen on the stock 2-1.
I took it back to the stealers as I thought I would probably fuck up putting them on as I fucked up some wires just changing the handgrips. It was due for first service anyway. I asked them I also wanted a tuner and new AC, as I read on here that it is important to do that. Now I know why they are referred to as stealers. $1250.00 service, fit pipes, SEPT tuner and SEAC. I wont mention the dealers name as it seems to be frowned on here, so lets just say No1 dealer in North Perth..
Anyway, I was reasonably happy riding the bike home, but it did feel a bit different. I figured I just needed to ride it a bit more. Rode it to Freo to work today, good hour or more from my place, and it just pops like mad on decelleration and it also feels like it is not as reponsive as before. I searched on here about popping on decel and found a few conflicting answers, some say this is normal and others say it is running too lean. There are also answers like taking it back to the dealers, "they will just tell you this is normal'. I am really confused and hope someone can give me a good answer on this, as I dont like the popping at all. The pipes are also a bit loud (neighbour will complain soon I reckon) I dont mind the sound, in fact it sounds good, but also now have to worry about them little piggies pulling me over for excess noise. I aslo read that putting a baffle in can sometimes get rid of the popping, and make it a bit less noisy to boot.
I'll be talking to the dealers tomorrow and hope to get this sorted, but any constructive advice would be appreciatted.
cheers
John
