Hi there
I probably know the answer to this question but I thought I'd pose it here for further feedback.
A mate has just scored an 03 Anniversary Fatboy in Silver and Black. the VIN number checks out as an 03 model and definitely comes up as an American import with 1HD as the prefix which is all good. He's just brought it around for me to have a look at.
Here's the thing and excuse my ignorance if the answer is really simple but it's got a Heritage Softail front fender (genuine Anniversary fender with the HD stripe), passing lamps, spoked front and rear wheels (rather than solids) and the indicators are round (as is typical of some of the Touring family) on the front and rear with the rears on a short bar.
So to look it you'd say it's a Fatboy that's been Heritaged??? Would that have been done post purchase??
Thoughts anyone.
Cheers
whats to say it isnt an 03 Heritage .... ? the reason i ask, is to swap out the solid wheels to spoke and put on a heritage front fender seems dumb.
edit : I just had a look and apparently the 03 heritage did come in silver and black
Thanks for the replies folks. The confusing variable is the VIN number which when you check here: http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vinDecoder.asp
comes up as an FLSTFI Fatboy?? The VIN is stamped on the frame (as are they all, on the sticker and on the purple Aussie sticker as well). The logo on the decal around the ignition switch also says Fatboy.
hence my original question..
Hired this 2003 Heritage 100 Anniversary model in Cairns and it had no mention of Fatboy on the dash panel.
Pics on their way. just waiting for the owner to take a couple
yep
Did I miss something with the last few posts???????
Anyway, here's a few shots of the new HD model: the Heriboy
