I have a 2012 Ultra 103 with Kuryakyn True duals with Kuryakyn mellow crushers which are still bark like a mad dog on steriods.. is there a way of adding a bit more back pressure and bringing down the decibel levels? The Crusher muffs have got great sound but there has to be some way to just take the edge off the it. All forum knowledge is greatfully received.

I've ordered some baffles for my V & H short shots from "smartpartz" after a lot of searching for advice...they do some for most well known exhaust systems....stick the name in google and it should bring up there site mate.

From all accounts they do some of the best around. Though also saying that, apparently baffles don't do a great deal other than perhaps giving the pipes a deeper note, reduce the roar by a few decibels, and giving some back pressure

The shortys I've got are bit too much, hope they work even a little bit when they arrive haha... Other wise my neighbours may never talk to me again!

I fitted the smartpartz baffles in my Big radius pipes and it made a big difference, it brought the noise down but most importantly it created some back pressure and improved the torque down low.

Good to hear xlr8it... Hope the same can be said when fitted to the short shots

3 hours on the bike today, last hour of that on the freeway... The short shots felt like they made my ears bleed!
Hope the smartpartz baffles work or I'm gonna have to change these out for something a bit lighter on the ears...
Haven't a clue how so many people seem to put up with it!

I'm hearing ya Gezer. The quiet baffle on my 2-1 came loose & blew out a few months back. Riding the bike just gave me a headache after that. Finally got around to removing the main baffle the other day & put the quiet baffle insert back in. What a difference, still a loud pipe but the baffle insert has taken the edge off & it's rideable once again.

    Slap.

Update on the smartpartz baffles gents...

Got them in the post from the US today delivered to work, rushed home and fitted them :)

Only took a couple of hours if that, and a bit fiddly getting the bottom one screwed in, as the fixing screw is at the back of the pipe..... but after a few f**ks droppin the screw, it was done fairly easy :)

Also a little bit of a drama with the heat shields..... getting them back on that is.....its not to hard, but the top tip is...be damn careful not to scratch the shields with the worm drive clamps...

    The result?...

Well, after an Initial test run just now, I must say they seemed very good, expensive for what they are, but yes they definitely reduced the DB's a bit (by about 10 going by the dodgy iPhone app meter) .....still very loud mind you, but in a deeper nicer on the ears growl, rather than a ear piercing thunder clap. I also think it will make it much easier to go into stealth mode when passing the cops... Just nice :)

Overall I would recommend, after a few days in the saddle I'll let you know if I change my mind!

Should get the smartpartz baffels delivered today. Got done by the cops, had the bike noise tested with the standard baffels in V&H short shots on a 2011 dyna. Came in at 109db, the EPA advised that i have to be at 102db to pass. Will report back once they are installed & tested.

I think Supertrapp might be the best system now as can tune them easy enough & get them to make hush power. open end cap louder closed end cap quiter less disc's adjustsa Torque , more disc's increases power.  but just suggesting i'm Deaf. so don't care eather way.

They have a few systems for the sporty the i think 2 into 1 & a Duel system. think you can still get the XR750 style flat tracker look. do a google but i think it's a smart moove the way things are now.
