Harley Goodies Floorboard Extensions

Ordered a set of Harley Goodies floorbaord extensions [http://harleygoodies.com/]. The extensions move the floorboards out by an inch, so if you have a large Screamin Eagle air filter it will stop your leg rubbing on it or at least move your leg away from the filter.

I ordered them before Christmas and they turned up early New Year, very good service. I shopped around and the Kuryakyn equivalent was a similar price but they wanted around US$126 shipping fee where as Harley Goodies only charges $16.95. If your a USA Harley Forum member you get a 15% discount as well. I paid $39.90 plus the $16.95 postage.

They were very easy to install, you need a decent hex socket [5/16], also have a look at the colour of your stock brackets so you can match it with the extensions [black or chrome].

    This is their advertising blurb

"These Floorboard Extensions are a simple and inexpensive way to solve many rider issues. Many riders experience hip, knee and ankle stress while riding because of the close placement of the stock floorboards. These footboard extenders will give you a significantly better riding position, which means a MORE COMFORTABLE RIDE. These Extensions are guaranteed to greatly increase your riding comfort or your money back.

Now... NO MORE burning your boot on the exhaust pipe, NO MORE sore legs, NO MORE fighting to keep your feet on the floorboards at highway speeds. And what can I say, a wider floorboard position makes your Harley look even FAT’R and MEAN’R. "

I forgot to mention that I didn't really need to adjust to the wider spacing as I was sort of hanging half my foot over the side of the floorboard before I fitted the extensions. This was mainly due to the air filter. Now I have the entensions my feet sit nicely on the floorboards and I'm not rubbing against the air filter. One small thing I have to get use to is when you put you feet down or up when you stop and take off. The boards are out a little bit more, it's a very minor thing and I'll soon get use to it. As for operating the brake and gear lever I had no problems, it made no difference for me.

I guess if you're dragging your floorboards through corners now then pushing them out another inch wont be for you.

Just purchased a set myself. Easy to fit (4 bolts only) and they fitted perfectly. Very happy with them.

They make them for old bangers too. Best 40 bucks I have ever spent. keeps me boots from sticking to the header wrap & a far more comfprtable ride.

Some blokes may have problems on lowered bikes, but they  have been fine on my stock height 90 Fatty.Who knows, sticking out the extra inch and a half, they may even save a primary cover, or brake lever next time I decide to lay down for a road nap.

    Cheers

Wouldnt be much good for my 2010 Fatboy Lo, it would make it scrape more than it does now, I have a smaller RSD aircleaner which is great dont have any issues with my leg hitting the aircleaner like the big SE lamp shade type aircleaner.
