I use ugly fish. My eyes water something shocking and these are great. I wear them as sunglasses around town and convert them to goggles on the highway/freeway. I've also got prescription inserts for them and they work fine. I'll have to try them without the foam inserts as The Mongrel suggests - the glue is almost worn away anyway and the insert is coming off.
on a very long trip like interstate i do wear a clear sheild on my open face , when going naked i tip my helment foward so the brim is just above my eyebrows & tilt mt head foward + i lean into the wind as i ride with turned down flatbars , i lean into the wind so it hold's me up @ speed then i' am in a neutral possie & i do not get sore arm strain, but yes i have been hit in & on the eye over the years , big bugs are the worse i raced a Buell & winton rode down & back after leaving the track on sunday arvo about 100 klms up the hume hwy a locust hit right on my eye that was the worse so i followed a semi for a while as there was a lot of locust around , but as far as seeing oil or fuel on the road , i never have worn sunglasses even as a earhtmoving opp for 22 yrs or on the motorbike's , you might have only 2 eye's but you only have one life , my eye's are brown does that mean i have 3
Hi there
Been wearing Ugly Fish Ultimates for a few years now, with prescription inserts. They work for me and the yellow lenses are awesome in the fog or mist. Just bought my 3rd pair in photochromic so I don't have to take them off when I pull up and go into a store or cafe to grab a feed.
Haven't tried any other brands though, but Piranha who are the wholesalers are great to deal with if there's a warranty issue.
Cheers
whats the last thing too go thru a bug's brain when he slams into your eye, his arse
I get any sunny that has a bit of a rim then I have this draft blocking stuff (not the furry stuff) made of soft sponge/foam and then I apply it to the underside/inside of the glasses. It makes an airtight seal and no watery eyes, and you can't see it either. Works a treat!
I got fuglies, foam gasket and headstrap are great plus only $40 impact proof etc,
clear shield on an open face for me. my script glasses are for long sight and short site. there's lotsa bugs that hang out in the Sugar Cane around my area. some years back I had my Ray Bans Sharks set with my script for then I only needed long vision. they ended up looking like farkin Roy Orbison specials. the optomitrist reakoned you can't have script with a wrap around glass lenses??
I'd like to have open face with shades of a sort. maybe if I lived in the burbs.
cheers Jimmy.
I have the Wiley x Jake model ( ironically my sons name) sunnies and am very happy with them ...however with transition ,presciption lenses (therefore useful both day and night), they were very pricey at around $500
Yep the optometrist put my script into the lenses. I mean they took the original dark sunny lens out and replaced it with transitional lenses so as I can use em day and night . The curvature of the lens is exactly the same as what was in them originally. I had laser surgery on my eyes about 6 years ago and had one eye lasered for distance and one for reading so i need to have glasses for driving . I'm sure your optometrist can work something out for you ...hope this is of some help.
OK So my Fuglies turned up! NICE!!!
Hi there, I use Scope safety glasses with the foam inserts, I have 1 pair of tinted, and 1 pair clear lens. They come with the elastic head bands too, which you remove the sunglasses wings and clip the strap in place. Best and cheapest eyewear ever. Only cost $20 each. They should be available at any work wear shop. Mine were purchased from Web Safety, Grand junction Rd Ottoway, SA. Best of all I can claim them on my tax.
What a bargain...and tax deduction too
Have both Fuglies ( $80-) and safety glasses with foam ($20-) , actually prefer the safetys to wear .
