I stand corrected, there is one good Cop in Australia. Now he will have to look for a job where people reward you for being a good guy. Didn't anyone in the department tell him not to be nice to people. ??????

think there are some good cops around but seems they get in shit when they go easy.even a chance that someone he went easy on dropped him in the shit.

I noticed last time i was booked a big change from the last time...Usually i did the right thing after a stern talking to and was on my way...recently i was booked twice in the same week and i noticed the new NSW uni educated cops seemed to have no discretion at all seemed black and white......the bitch even complimented me on a nice dresser...in the ol days that usually meant u were getting off it...awww welll..new generation of cops trained in Unis instead of on the street like before.....all comes outta a text book now...no more mr nice guys it looks/...

Ya see.....another good reason to live in the Territory.

Mate of mine  got done doinn' 145k/hr in a 110k/hr zone, unregisered, uninsured vehicle.

Auto $300 for over speed limit, 6 points for the indiscretion and $750 for the unrego'ed an uninsured.

So anyway, the cop issued what was the norm, then the magistrate change things to his 'discresion.

No points lost, dropped the fine to a total of $700 and waivered the the points loss due to his exemplary driving record in the 20 years he has been in the Territory. Truth be known that he was blind rotten at the time and the cop didn't pick it up!!

    !! who's next

Seems to discredit the notion that speed traps are for revenue rather than safety concerns!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was borderline on the limit, probably a good nudge over. And got pulled over doing 110 in a 60 zone in Alexandria Sydney about 2 months ago.

Can't remember the numbers exactly but the cop came back and said something like "you should be done for 6 points & $600 but due to your attitude this evening and your driving record I fining you $220 and 3 points".

At the time I was sweating like a rapist hoping they would'nt get the breath analyzer out on me, which they did'nt, but looking back they obviously used their discretionary powers which is cool - they could have discretely let me off though right!?

I had a pretty good story as to why speeding but was too scared to say much due to being a bit tipsy!

i got pulled up in the isa a number of years back as i was coming into town. pricks had the gun on me but didn't pick me up so maybe going hards the secret. they pulled me up just the same & quizzed me for a bit. said he was booking me for 80 in a 60 as that was his guess. at the time i didn't have a bike license & was pretending to be my old man (only bloke i knew all the details of lol) so i wasn't going to argue to much & the prick was huge. funny now as i think i was 25 trying to convince him i was 48. worked a treat for a bit as he couldn't prove i wasn't 48 or what speed i was doing until he pinged me again another time & gave me a trip to the court.(yep i was a dumb prick.)

i think i had just clicked into 3rd at the time on the crest of a hill after an incline at about 160ks with all my mates cheering me on from the caravan park & no it wasn't a harley lol

you boys & girls want to run into pricks of cops & lots of them, then move to mt isa

I got let off once as i sped past a speed camera, one of the boys in blue jumped into the car and chased me into town leaving his partner behind. When he eventually caught me about 10km later after i unsuccesfully tryed to loose him in town, he commented on my speeding which i didnt denie (i was driving a v8 Torana) and he said that it was my lucky day as he forgot to grab the ticket book.
