Exhaust Scraping

    Hi Punters,
just bought 2into1 comp series pipes for 09 Nightrod. Limiting RH turning as it scrapes. My own fault for lack of research. Any suggestions? (ie suck it up and keep riding) Will it absorb enough to avoid destabilising bike on bends? Have bottomed out on lumpy RH-er before and hit frame which almost caused a seat colour change, so now I'm nervious with this.
    Any advice appreciated.

Is the bike lowered at all?

Swap it for a Superglide and you will never look back!

Not lowered. I'm thinking I'll just wear the pipes down until they scrape no more an worry about a new set when the time comes.

    Cheers

If possible you could cut the pipes and raise them up a cm or two. Messy, but an option perhaps.

What model number V&H Comp did you you get Dan? The 75-113-9 or the 75-106-9?

Hey Dan, sounds to me that you could do with some suspension tweaking. Must have been some lumpy road to bottom out on the frame or is just the bike going down too quick on it suspension. Maybe some some damping adjustments. I dont know alot about Nightrods, but this sounds very famaliar with my dynas. Anyway if the suspension is too soft, getting it fixed my improve your bank angle.

Tell you what surprsied that on eBay people happy to buy footpegs that have gone from Square/Oblong peices of metal into Pyramid/Triangles LOL, guess they see it as a feature like in torn Jeans, "customised for better Lean Angle"

Yeah I think you're right, I've done it again since. Lumpy dippty roads. Going to raise damper setting. Wont help with exhaust, gonna have to live with that until pipes wear down.

    Cheers

That's the model I was considering getting too, but I've decided I'll have a crack at the Dan-Moto Highwayman to start off with and see how that goes, hopefully a fraction more clearance.

Pity, the V&H is an awesome looking pipe, and sounds so so sweet, scraping being just a downfall of a pipe specifically designed for drag racing I guess <img src=" border="0" src="/DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/_default/emoticons/sad.gif" />

Still waiting for the Dan-Moto exhaust to come in stock, they're in production at the moment so hopefully be able to place an order soon and then I'll do the install and start a thread ;)
