Hi all, 

i am waiting tot take delivery of my first Harley.

i thought I would join up to have a bit of a read and learn, also to make some new friends along the way.

I purchased a Harley Davidson forty eight with a few extras I can't wait get out of the first ride and start running her in. 

 

Any tips for running in a new Harley ?

 Welcome! I just finished running my sportster in and is up for first service already! I havent stopped smiling!

 

Well the bike has been going great, After three rides i have clocked up just over 600kms
It's fun in the twisty's but i just have to get used to the fact that it can't be layed over in the corners too far, as i seem to be hitting the peg wear pins quite regularly going over Mt tamborine and Mt Glorious, I've managed to touch the bottom of my short shots on a right turn some where lol oops, at least it's right on the bottom where it cant' be seen

Here is some pic's of the bike, I really would like to change the solo seat to something more comfortable and that rolls up at the back for a little more support. I ordered a sundowner dual seat when i bought the bike but still waiting for it to arrive, does any sportster owners have this seat ? how do you find it ? my standard 48 seat is pretty ordinary.

I did the following to it..
all stage 1, vince and hanes short shots black
screaming eagle pro series tuner
intake
HD digital speedo/rpm gauge cluster and sender unit
HD Nightster fuel tank
HD Sundowner dual seat (whenever it arrives)

 Looks good Blackout, I may see you around the traps. I live in Toohey Forest outh side. I got a Dec '06 Sportster XL883 with the short Vance & Hines pipes too...I've only had a quick go on mine, I do my R's on Friday ha ha 

Know what you mean about leaning, I had a sports bike so I am wary of leaning the Sportster too far, I have the lowered springs too so I have to be careful...
