I thought that was a tad expensive at $25K. Add $2500 for GST and compliance costs  and you can buy a new fatboy here. I know the new one wont have the goods that thing had got but at least the bike will have ABS and be 8 years younger.

Bruce Rossmeyer are the biggest Harley dealership chain in Florida , a very professional outfit indeed

When I was there at Daytona bikeweek in 2011 I /we spoke to guys at various Rossmeyer stores about selling and shipping to Australia of used bikes they were all " like hey man , no problemo !"

So I don't think there's any malice in that Aussie ebay listing , but as mentioned already in the thread , any Aussie buyer would have to dot all the "i's" . If you're paying RAWS on top of that buy it now price it is NOT a cheap bike

The average Joe doesn't know wtf "RAWS" is. They figure you import, get a RWC (or whatever for the state your in)and rego, then you ride. Unless the HD dealer in the US doesn't know the particular requirements for a country (which is unlikely) then omitting the requirements is a scumbag's act.

Yeah wouldn`t be worth it for the very little ya`d save and the time it would take fuckin about , like ya`s sayin i`m sure someone will find out the hard way ?

brought my 2005 FXDL in with genuine 400klms and absolutely no sign of any use for 13500.00 landed in WA and I could have done it better if I had prior knowledge of other available savings etc, you could bring 2 bikes in for that price

If I wanted to get a CVO from the States, and spend a shitload of cash, I would come to someone like yourself, who not only has the experience, but has the track record.

Buying a bike "sight unseen" is indeed something to worry about ! I know , I laboured heavily over it myself .

You'd have to be right buying a bike from a franchised HD dealer you would think ( You would hope !)

LOADS of folks , including many on the forum , have bought bikes ex-US on the basis of "photo evidence"

My recently arrived 2008 CVO Springer was traded in as a one owner 6,000 mile bike against a new " truck" at a Chevrolet dealer in Texas.

Shipped to Australia with other Harleys and a batch of Chevy "pickups" etc direct to Perth WA , and complied here.

Sold to me by the truck outlet in Perth . Swanky place that does the RHD conversions to the "pickups" in their own workshop

Now I must say I did get to see the bike "real up close and personal like" and even ride the bike on dealer plates before I was 100% committed to buy . Now the bike had been described as "100%" in Texas , and indeed it truly was.

This eBay CVO Fatboy looks good as well I must say , just be careful of the " all-up landed cost "

And no disrespect meant to the importer of the 2005 FXDL but this CVO Fatboy would have been twice the price new , and even more than twice the price in Australia at the time !

You'd have to be looking at these 2 Australian ebay listings . Sign of the times in the already overcrowded Aussie market for used CVO's ! 2 CVO Fatboys here , 2005 and 2006  Hope the links are good , I've had trouble posting links of late !

One 2005 CVO Fatboy changed hands here in Perth for low 20's just weeks ago . ( It was a teeny wee bit "scruffy " !) That was on Aussie Perth Gumtree
