    Hi everyone,

Got one of these for Christmas by the wife thought I'd share the experience.

Piece of piss to install, i think it looks cool as all fuck and he abilty to customise the colours for each individual pat of the dial is great. I have se up mine to have a red background with blue dials. Looks sick at night!

The only thing that shits me is hat it marries up to your bike after 50 wiles meaning you cant resell it later, I think that really sucks and I'm surprised it doesn't conttravine some consumer law. I bought it and should be able to use it on any bike, at anytime I see fit to. I'll be making enquiries about that and let let you know the outcome.

    Hi mate,

I can understand why they do it but on the later bikes I thought the details are kept in the ECM. So if I sell it to you and you had the same bike it should read your modual and tell you your details. I hate buying shit and someone else telling me what to do with it. At least HD should offer a reset service if I want to sell it, fuck it is mine! Know what I mean? Anyway the thing is way cool at night.

We should organise a ride with some of the forum lads.

I have a 2010 Fatboy Lo, Yes they do look great, day or night, I am pissed that it does marry to one bike.

But im not happy with it as it does get lots of moisture on the glass and when it dries it does leave a stain from the previous time the condensation appeared. I dont wash my bike every week as it really doesnt get too dirty and when I do I try not to direct the water onto the speedo.  Another thing which is a bit of a shit is on sunny days, certain time of day when riding the sun reflects of the shiny bits and is very annoying. Glad I have removed all the other bits of chrome which gave me the shits and blacked them out.

Ask the dealer 2 weeks after I purchased this part to see if there was a warranty and they didnt want to knwo about it. Also it now has a vin error on the LCD screen.

Geting that way that I am going to put the standard speedo back on and use the fautly fancy speedo on a tank I have hanging up in the garage.

Listen to me, this what I do for a living.

Write a registered letter outling the problems you are having, thell them you will go to CA if the problem is not resolved. State you give them 14 days to reply. If they do not lodge a claim and you will without fail get your money back plus lodgement fees. It will take a while but that is the process. New consumer laws are heavily stacked in the consumers advantage, do what I said and you will get your money back, trust me. If the product is not perfoming as stated and is unfit for purpose it is a piece of piss. DON'T BLOW YOUR MONEY AND DON'T TAKE WHAT SOME FUCKTARD TELLS YOU IS GOSPEL. Drop me a line if you need any help! Fuck these lazy cunts ripping people off.

Im running the sportster version of this on my 48 and i'm really happy with it, I got it with the intank sender unit so the fuel gauge and fuel remaining indication would work, I am having problems with this, I am getting to half left on the fuel gauge and 90km remaining in range on the speedo and then i am spluttering for fuel, It has been set for the correct tank size, The dealer has been helpful and is unsure what the cause could be, they will investigate when it goes in for it's first service next week.

How accurate has your fuel gauge been on your speedo ?

    Camo,
Wouldn't swear to it but I believe that in the 2013 parts /accessory book-page 627, they now have a model for earlier than the previous 08 & up models.-pt no 70900071a-5" -There is a 4" model as well-Might be worth ringing a dealer to check.
    Hope this helps .
    Cheers Wayco

The elctronic one reads quite different from the analogue one. So to test it out I ran the bike dry while carrying some fuel. Whne the standard guage says empty the new one says 60 KMS to go. First the fuel light comes on, then it starts to flash "Low Range" then about 20KMS later you stop. So it's dead accuate. So I trust the new one. It shows the gear you're in all the time in grey. The only thing I wish it did was give you a live live fuel consumption and liters per hundred. But the colour variable are fucking endless. Otherwise highly recommended.
