No longer required in NSW as the Police have those camera things that tell them if a car or bike is registered. I reckon they'll try the front number plate trick on the bikes again soon cause the police will have to be behind the bike to find out not like a car where they can get them either way.
Im not sure though if you have to keep your rego label till the rego is renewed or not.

Dont need them because the cameras can do an instant rego check.
basically they hope you forget as you have no reminder on your window and they then send you a fine. hello revenue raising at its laziest.

My understanding is that this applies for any vehicles under 4.5 Tonne (I think) from regsitration renewal date of 1st Jan 13. I got this off the Transport and Maritime site.

From 1 January 2013, registration stickers will no longer be required for light vehicles up to 4.5 tonnes Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM). NSW Police use number plate recognition cameras to automatically detect if a vehicle is unregistered.

This means from 1 January 2013, registration stickers can be removed from all light vehicles registered in NSW. While it is not an offence to keep displaying your registration sticker, it is no longer required.

New stickers are no longer being generated and will not be sent with registration renewal notices. Removing labels for light vehicles simplifies the registration process, reduces red tape and will save time and money for the community and businesses.

I re-registered my bike in december and asked the question then and was advised I needed to put my sticker on for a whole 9 days. lol

"will save time and money for the community and business" How? I save 5 minutes putting it on. Business usually get the employee to put them on and they are getting paid any way so no dollars saved there. I believe it cost the NSW gubbermint less then $1.00 for each label which we pay for anyway. Are we getting a reduction in rego of $1.00? I doubt it.
