    Hi guys,

Just bought a mid glide front end for my Iron and will be putting a 16 x 3 wheel on over the coming days (time permitting).  The problem I will eventually have is front guard! Currently running an RSD street tracker brace because I looks brilliant but not overly thrilled about the extension pieces in the kit that are used to put the exisiting narrow glide guard on a mid glide front end.  I know the 48's run a mid glide front guard, but what other HD's are mid glide that I may be able to get a second hand guard from and chop it up a little to suit what I want.  I'm trying to avoid spending a fortune on a new guard particularly because I am going to hit it with an angle grinder and just seems a waste of money.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Cooky, what models are we talking about mate? Its going to be a shit job either way (I think) because the mounting holes for the Sporty are different from other models, just trying to work out a way to get it sorted.

piece of piss to do, I have done a few over the years, score yourself a Fatbob front fender and drill the rivets out to remove the brace, measure both front ends to work out the difference and draw up a template with the fatbob top and your lower section, take it to a machine shop have em cut it out with a plasma cutter they will bend up, you clean it up and pop rivet to your fender and away you go. the only thing to bear in mind is how far you want it of the tyre, I sat em 10mm off then measured with the fender sitting on the tyre packed to height etc.

I'm thinking all the 88 or 89 to 06 sportsters FXR & Dyna's are midglide or at least they came with midglides

Funny, I always thought they were called Narrow glide pre 06 ish.
But you could buy an aftermarket midglide kit.
