Hi All.I am brand new to the bike scene and better still the Harley Scene.In my short 39 years i have bought and restored 3 holden Monaros amongst many other cars and then with a divorce i was only able to get a house with a carport so room to build any more cars was nearly impossible.Many beers later and a new bride we decided to buy a toy again but of course it had to be something i could restore and put my own touches on.I am in the process of pulling down my 1973 Sporster.It has has the ironhead engine and 4 speed which runs but needs to be push started as it doesnt have a starter engine at the momement and is a little unconfortable with out a seat and foot pegs.The sporty will be a good starting point but i already have my eye on an early fat boy to restore when one comes along at the right dollars.Anyone out there that has spare parts , new or old to suit an eraly sporty please let me know as i am in the market for bits and pieces and would like to get what i can local if possible.Also detailed photos of early Sportsters would be a help so as i know what to look for as some things are missing alltogether.I will send some before and after photos as things progress a little further.
