Not that there will be but, if there is a next time David ya wanna stick that fat head of yours under it first. It will save the bike and give you a new appreciation of what airbags can do!!!!! Ha ha all good mate. See, the jokes and name calling can come out now ya nearly fixed it. What did weight lifter Wayno say to you?

I was working on the bike the other day and noticed the stand doesn't even sit flat on the ground. It only touches on the front edge of the stand. Weird

I hate the fucking sidestand ! It doesn,t push forward of 90deg to the bike . Had bike in neutral on stand and didn,t notice the slight downhill slope in concrete . Bike started to roll forward and off stand !! Lucky there was 2 of us on that side to catch it as it was falling over . Now always really study the ground and park it so it can only roll back and keep it in gear .

SG hope it's all back together for you and your back is ok.

Easiest way to pick up a bike is squat down with your ass against the seat. one hand on the shock or near and the other on what ever you can grab. Stand up and walk backwards as you go.
Legs are the biggest muscle you have

    HI
I was in the shop on day, and comented on how I thought the side stand design could be better.
Got the usual retorts, 'nothin wrong with them',' I'ts some thing you gtta just get used to', when out of the back of the shop came a horrendis "CRASH". A new super glide fell over, nobody there, been sittin in that spot for a week.
Musta been GHOSTS!!! Of course nobody said nothin!

Lucky Tim you caught the bike in time. The stand need to come forward about 10mm for the bottom of the stand to lay flat on the ground. At the moment only the leading edge of the stand makes contact with the ground so about 20 sq mm of stand actually holds the bike up. If they go the stand to come forward that extra 10mm then you could potentially have 200 sq mm holding the bike up. There is a piece of metal that stops the stand coming too far forward. I would like to grind some out of it but if it becomes too thin then it could snap. Another option would be to bend the stand. I personally think the stand is farked on a Superglide.

DUGE........................ I would have been laughing my tits off at that incident. "Oh so the stand is ok is it?" Oh it fell over off its "STAND" which is ok? etc

    Hi
Check out " EASY UP" on the net. They are a center stand, but not in the true sence, it doesn't actualy lift the back wheel off the road. You can back it onto it while still on the bike, and ride off while sitting on the bike with your feet on the pegs. If you put a bit of 12mm ply under it it will lift the rear wheel clear, but you must chock the front wheel so it doesnt roll off on you. Allso park on a slight uphill slope, this will allso aid in putting the bike up on the stand. Harley do sell a proper center stand, its in the book some where, I didn't find it till after I bought this one. The shop didn't know yhe harley one existed

I got the HD centre estand , they work well but,,,,,,
The legs are screw out adjustable , meaning ya rear wheel can be off ground when pulled back and levered onto the centre stand if ya set it so that the stand legs are screwed out longer , though it`s a little harder to active as ya levering the weight of ya ride by foot , but if ya want to use it as a ride away stand , so ya can jump on it and ride away with the stand releasing upward and springing outa the way , ya have to have the legs scewed in fairly short or ya won`t be able to ride off it , this way it can also be activated with bare feet fairly easily !
In saying that , they are reasonably cheap ($280 by memory), a solid bit of gear and only 3 bolts to fit , they do scrape out on real extreme bad ruts 2 up but not at all generally in normal conditions or riding alone , when activated they don`t actually lock in as such like the HD sidestands should/do when facing downhill , so beware that ya don`t knock or move your bike too much in a forward direction while it`s on it , i still leave me side stand out as well just in case it comes off the centre stand while im working on or making the bike move around while on the centre stand , simply the reason that it can jump off the centre stand without too much force when in the low setting as too ride away , i find i don`t use it that much at all , exept for cleaning and have contemplated taking it off totally but havn`t , as it does what it is meant to do keeping the bike evenly level , just should have a bit better lock-in at ride away setting i reckon , i found the HD stock stand to be fairly safe compared to many , just always be sure to pull back on the bike when it`s on it`s side stand to make sure that it is going to lock-in if moved forward or if parking slightly down hill !
I reckon the HD centre stand with it`s feet screwed out would actually be a safer bet , but ya can`t ride away "off it" like that , so ya would have to manually rock the bike forward off it all the time ?
I just leave it short as it is then , easy on , easy off !
Really it`s just a single locknut either side and the legs are completely adjustable , but i tend to just leave it set where it`s easy to activate and still possible to ride off !
Sorry if that sounds confused hey , had a few wild turkeys !

Yeah ya can get the disc or i have the type called mud bugs , same deal really , only rectanglular in shape !
Yeah FLH i got mine through Harley Heaven Victoria via Luke on this site 20% forum member discount , didn`t realise it was that much though , i said $280 but may have been $380? , they are solid gear and do the job well , the more ya screw the feet out longer , the harder it is to leverage onto the stand , not imposibly hard though , and probably more harder to knock off the stand also , locking it in more securely , ya just can`t ride off it if ya rear ain`t contacting the ground that`s all hey !
    Cheers
