Hi all names Mick, just put a deposit on my first Harley a 2013 Street bob pick it up in Fubruary, I am 56yrs old 5'4 and looking for advice on lowering the Bike a bit just to get my feet flat on the ground, at the moment my toes are the only thing holding it up, talking to the dealer about a lower seat and different suspension to bring me closer to the ground and Reduced Reach forward control"s, if any one has had to do the same to there Bike any advice would be great.
Cheers
welcome
gday mick. i ride a suprerglide and not much taller than you this is what i did to get a very low seat height hope it helps. 11" works shocks ,lepera bare bones seat and reduced reach kit for the forward controls brought my feet up and back quite a lot have a bend in my leg now just right and gained clearance when cornering thats about as low as you will get it enjoy
weight is no problem smaller people than us ride even bigger bikes , myself i throw it round like dirt bike at times but with the lowerd suspension handling can be a problem at high speeds but i do ride it very hard when this happens ps ignore my spelling im lazy :p
Welcome
Had my new bike deliverd on friday 2013 super glide custom, (Was going to get the Street Bob but changed to the Super Glide) took it for a short ride around the back streets to get use to it and all i can say is that this Harley is a Dream to ride. ( have to wait 2 weeks now to upgrade my Licence ). I still have my Yamaha xvs 650 custom to get around on, trying to get used to the Blinker switch being on the Left and Right side of the Harley is the hardest thing at the momment, Is there any one with a Reduced Reach seat on there Bike as i am only 5'4 with short arms, i can touch the ground with both feet but i felt as though i was sliping back in the seat. Any help will be Great
Mick
