I'll most likely organise my own assistance. But yes, probably a Triumph rider too, unless it was an old Triumph.
I get more of a kick nodding or waving to riders of scooters and mopeds, all L and P platers when passing or meeting them at lights. They're usually so surprised that anyone would think to acknowledge them. Other Harley riders generally, appear too busy trying to look "bad", stupid skull face masks, novelty helmets and the like. Jap bike riders seem a mixed bunch, some nod, some don't.
I come from an era where a bloke used to wave to anyone on a bike. This is a Tassie riders personal perspective, could be different on the North Island.
Plenty of bikes out and about today for the local SA Toy Run. I've always waved, and have never felt slighted if it wasn't returned. Today: Japper sports bikes- fuck all waves. Tourers of any make- always a nod or a wave. Resto and other odd types of bikes- mixed bag; seemed somewhat surprised a Harley punter would acknowledge them, and react nervously after you passed them. Harley riders: depended on how shiny their boots were????, if you know what I mean. Costs ya nothing to acknowledge a fellow rider. Don't matter what ya ride! Just sayin'!
Interesting I went for a ride late yesterday around the hills with the girl on the back. Didn't do the Toy Run but plenty of bikes still riding around the hills. Got a nod or finger lift from nearly everyone we passed. Maybe I dont look to intimidating
