    Hi all,

An update with my harley purchase. WELL my bank is really pissing me off. I have to wait for my missus now to complete her business tax return which she has only just done before my bank will give me the funds to pay the bike place. Lucky the harley dealer is forgiving and since i put a deposit on the bike they will hold it for me. So now it will be another 2 - 3 weeks before i can get the bike and it is sitting at the bike shop along with my new helmet and the missus helmet.

out of interest what is a good riding boot/ shoe for harleys? Has anyone puchased the harley branded boots or prefer something else?

Too many good boots out there to list but go with one that fits good rather than looks good. Even lace up steel toe work boots do a great job at half the price. Cheap harley boots on evilbay from the states ATM.

Of course you will it's a fat boy, on boots, pair of lace up zip up work boots are as good as, I've worn nothing but for years, don't believe in paying for so called bike boots when your local work wear shop has good shit for the right price.

    Cheers Bro.

That is one Friggin' Nice Bike.

I didn't have the funds for a new Fat Boy or anything larger & opted for the Sporster Iron.

Looks like its from Harley City, if so great bunch of guys.

    Cheers & a Big Welcome.

    Thanks Fe883 :D

I pick it up on Thursday. I just managed to get funds but was looking at the fat bob before I saw this.

It is from Harley city and yes they are a great bunch of guys and have been very patient with me while I got screwed with the bank.

Looking forward to disappearing Thursday night for a few hours of riding to get used to the bike :D

    Hey Everyone,

Well this afternoon all went ahead and at 4pm i had delivery of my bike :D

Went for my first ride after the harley dealer explained every feature on the bike.... not many ... but that is how we like it.

The ride was Friggen amazing and to this day i do not know why i didn't invest in a harley years earlier. So easy and so fun to ride the thing.

I did have 1 hair raising moment by going into the corner too fast and the first time that i opened the throttle without realising how much torque these things have but once i got used to it i did not want to come back home.

Dealer said it will feel a bit sluggish for the first 1600km and not to open it up to much so i am just enjoying the cruise with the wind in my face and the maultiple of looks and stares i get when the big vance and hines are throbbing next to them :D

One thing i did noticed is the more force required to bring the bike to a stop at the lights with the extra 150kg extra than a sports bike and because the brakes having been bedded in yet.

Hope to see some people on here some day with a cruise and gain a wealth of knowledge from everyone on here.

Good on ya mate! yeah - Take it easy on new tyres etc. No need to "run them in" exactly, but don't flog it either.

Try not to sit on say 100 for too long. Vary it up a bit.

They are great to ride eh!! :)

    Thanks everyone.

The bike is amazing. So good to handle and just love the feel of it. Glad i made the move to HD.

Went for a few rides over the weekend and rode it to work this morning. It is interesting to vary the speed on a melbourne freeway to be able to run in the engine :)

I have a question but will ask that in the general subject.
