Sorry for the thread dig, just want to say thanks kiwidave for the comprehensive checklist.

Shat a battery on the poker run recently thanks to the reg overcharging it, but now i have been able to check out the stator and it seems to be showing the right readings, so one less thing to worry about!

New reg on last night, battery gets here monday, back on the road.

So, how do you know that...

Checked the resistance between the two pins, and between each pin and earth and it all came up as it seems it should.

Runs fine with a jump start and is charging with correct voltage, so im expecting it to be good.

I updated to a Crane Cams reg with a built in trickle charger, so thats killed 2 jobs with one part.
