Hi all, I am new to this forum and about to venture into Harley world after owning spots bikes and want advice.

i am only 5,7 (170cm) tall and looking between a fatbob or fat boy lo and was wondering what everyone recommends for my height and differences between the two bikes since there is about $4000 - $5000 difference between the two for brand new.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I will look at the softail slim. Now that I am on holidays I might go down to the dealer to test ride a few types. The issue is reaching forward controls vs weight and control of the bike. I threw my leg over the fat bob and loved it but then saw the fatboy lo through the shop window of another dealer when they were closed and loved the styling.

Yeah when your layin out up to $30k for a ride , you want the one that suits you and appeals to your taste , they are all good just gotta find the one that`s got your name on it , companies like Mustang do make low cut seats that drop the ride hieght an inch , so it will come down more to what you like rather than ride hieght , got a short mate that rides a roadking and has no drama`s , he just makes sure he parks it so he can roll/ride out and has become used to the hieght , whatever ya do , make sure you try a few on , last thing ya want to do when spendin up is to see or find somethin you feel would suit ya better after the deals done , take ya time if ya have too , they ain`t going nowhere hey , my tip is to go with the one ya think handles the best and make it suit yourself , personally i think the roadkings are a bit more bike for ya bucks , though i am totally bias of course !

Thanks Scottie, yeah not trying to think about the $$ I will be outlaying lol. Height to touching the ground is not an issue just reaching the forward foot controls. Not a huge fan of mid mount controls. Going in the morning to visit the Harley dealer with fatboy lo in stock. Want to get rid of the sports bike as wife can't climb on the back due to her height and she sat on the back of the fatbob and fell in love with it. Still not 100% on slow turns so that worries me with the Harley weight.

Momentum is key , but they are one of the best for low speed manouverability and stability once your used to them anyway , adjustable floorboards solve that issue between mid mounts and forwards allowing ya to totally relax ya legs . Tryin a few different rides , is ya best bet hey !

I agree on the boards. Makes a huge difference as you can adjust your feet into different spots along the ride.

I also added brackets to push mine out and forward for even more stretch. Now I don't need hwy pegs. :)

Just try both. It's the only way to find yours one. I guess the fat should be more comfy evn if a little bit heavier thanks to the floorboards.
