    Hi all,

Just had my 1250 Hammer kit installed the other week. I've got a thread elsewhere on this conversion but thought I'd share some info here on my build as a couple of guys have asked about it.

    - Hammer Performance 1250 kit iron-lined with Sledge Hammer 30 deg reverse dome pistons (10.5:1)
    - Hammer Performance "Crush" porting 1.900/1.615 valves, 550 lift spring kit & 30 deg squish cut on EFI 1200 heads
    - Hammer Performance Sledge Hammer chrome moly fixed length (-.050) pushrods
    - Hammer Performance Impact 560 cams
    - Hammer Performance 3" offset Air Hammer intake
    - Buell high performance bronze oil pump drive gear
    - Energy One BTX-11 (extra plate) performance clutch kit

Conversion done by Thundertech here in Perth (Mundaring). Probably the friendliest most welcoming bunch of blokes I've ever dealt with in a workshop. Likewise with Hammer Performance, they've been a pleasure to deal with, quick to respond to all my emails & gave me a great deal with the package.

I've only done 230kms on the build so far & taking things easy, so can't really comment on performance just yet. Will be taking it back for the big dyno tune after break-in.

Also had the XR front caliper done. Will be looking at speedo/coil relocations, new seat (RSD?) & suspension next.

    Cheers,
    Slap.

Nice XR Stink, what pipe you have on there?

Nearly bought an XR-X meself once.

    Slap.

edit: I just read your intro Stink,  good stuff, the XR Torque Hammer def a lot sexier than the XL version! Nice bike mate..

So I had the bike dynoed yesterday & was lucky enough to sit in for the last hour. I had hoped for 100 horses for bragging rights but expected the quiet insert in my pipe to hold it back & it did. I know this pipe is capable of more. The extra 5hp is not worth the attention from the plod though.

All up though I got what I wanted which is a fun street bike with a strong mid range. 1st & 2nd gear are gone in a flash, the real fun starts in 3rd & even 5k gear changes still bring a massive grin.

And yeah I know the chart is also in the dyno thread but I've put it here to complete this thread.

    Cheers,

    Slap.

Good to see some results Slaps, you must be wrapped!!! Its a pitty your ringing its neck with those pipes!!!! I think with a better pipe you'll even notice the 4k closer to 70-75hp.... This motor is an easy 105hp.... pffft 90" who needs em, those big motor guys always leaving power on the table!!! :P

Yeah T1 I reckon this pipe would do 100hp easy without the quiet insert, but hey it's a good streetable ride & lots of fun.

Looking at pipe options now but not in a hurry.

    Cheers,
    Slap.

Have you looked at the d&d bobcat?

Just an observation, but the power is still rising sharply as the rev limiter cuts in, and the torque is still sustaining.
I thought these sporties would pull higher revs safely ?
Another 500 revs and you would likely hit 105hp !

I take mine to 7200, so I'm sure he had a little more in it. But there is more to be had mid way which will make it faster

Looking at the sheet again, I missed the power spiking at the end, usually blamed on the rev limiter, making it look like its rising sharper than in reality.
