Can anyone tell me if an inverted xr1200 twin disc front end would fit up to a 1986 fxr frame , and would the rake degree and length be similar to an original fxr front end ? Thanks.

You be best checking harley part numbers s they keep using the same triples etc for a range of years and models. If they match up they fit. Sorry cant be more help but you never know what people know on his site.

I like your turbo setup, were you having trouble with the front end prior to your steering damper?

would you know anywhere that I could buy a gearbox ,inner and outer primary clutch and compensating sprocket to suit 86 fxr? Thanks.

all harleys have a 1'' dia steering shaft from about  sporties from 1982 & big twin s from 1960 the sporty shaft  is a bit shorter than the big twin but i have used a spacer under the bottom bearing too fill up the difference  but best check on the XR dia

Re my fron tend...Yes the bike would get a wobble on fast sweepers (at about 100-120kph). Once the damper was fitted i can do the same sweeper at 160+ (not that I would ever try that...lol).

Just added a fork brace this week and man what a difference it makes. the entire fron end is now really tight and dead on! just need to get the suspension done now and I'm good to go.
