Hi there, I was interested in trying to reduce engine rpm during highway cruising. I feel that when cruising at 100 km/h or more on my Softail, it really could do with an extra gear to stop the engine from screaming it's tits off. Unfortunately it's only a 5speed, so I thought by going to a smaller pulley, it would be better on the open road. Any suggestions for a suitable size pulley which would be ideal for both town and highway use without compromising engine performance? Cheers.

P.s I think the current pulley is the original one from factory, not sure on tooth size though, might have to see if there is tooth size cast into the pulley somewhere.?R

reducing the tooth count will help but you will be limited by the current belt length. I think the tooth count is on the inside of the pulley
