    G'day.

I need help please. I've just bought my first efi bike, a 2005 softail with factory pipes & air filter, I need more noise & power. This has probably been covereed in the past, can anyone point me in the right direction?

I have always done all my own work on bikes & cars & I have a well equipped workshop, mechanical & electrical, but I need some guidance.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Smithy,

Heaps of info here man, and yes - the first point of call is air and pipes - BUT - You will need a tuner, or you will be WAY out of tune and very lean!!

Have a read through the workshop and EFI sections - Heaps of info.

    Cheers

Thanks mongral, that's what I thought I will have to get a tuner, but I don't know anything about them. I will just have to spend the time reading as you sugest.

First off, you have an early Twin Cam without 02 sensors so XiEd from Night Rider maybe the go for you if you’re intending to up-grade to just slip-ons/pipes & AC.

If you’re adding cams & head work also, then you will need a dyno tune with the dyno operator’s preferred tuner.

If you would like to tune the bike yourself, then, by adding 02 sensor bungs & sensors to your exhaust pipes, along with a few other bits & pieces, you can use TTS, Powervision or the Screamin Eagle Race Tuner systems. They do require a bit of effort @ first, but become easier the more you get into it. - Rob

Chose your tuner carefully because some give 100% back up some give 0% back up. Most engine builders are running the same EFI tuner and are willing to give great advice if you decide to build a modified engine at home and you are willing to tune your own.

G,day KiwiRob.  First plan is pipes & air cleaner, don't what after that .I would like to add 02 sensors to keep an eye on afr, I did'nt know this bike did'nt have them, I thought all modern efi had them. my ignorance ha ha. I have always done my own engine work & tuning , would like to continue, I will learn slowly. Has anyone had experience with Daytona products, they seem to offer what I need at a reasonable price, maybe I'm wrong?  Thanks for the help.
