Has anyone any experience of having a "new" fob "coded" to the bike ?

     ( I think that's the correct terminology anyways )

I do believe it's an HD dealer job anyways , but would be glad to hear of folks experiences and costs either way

From what I gather the bike has to be at the dealers to have the new fob " matched/coded " to the ECM

The bike in question only has one fob , can the new be coded from the old ?

From my Diagnostic manual both fobs have different pin numbers and need to be coded the same PIN with the DT (Digital Technician)

    Job done

Took the bike to a Perth Harley dealership , I didn't say it was a used "Yankee" import , and they didn't ask !

( Another franchised Harley dealer had already refused to code a new alarm fob to/for it as " it was an import !" )

Coded me a new alarm fob to the bike in the workshop using their Digitech , all up cost $100 Australian

Thanks for the suggestions , but they had to have the bike physically present with the new fob to be assigned.

I have bought the Owners manual , Service supplement and parts manual(s) and an original CVO cover all on US eBay

2 other spare "black" keys cut at a security outlet for $32 so now I'm all set and fixed up

    Gotta love that folks !

all you need now is to learn the code and it don't matter what happens to the fob
