Because you think it will make you look cool.........but it doesn't work. Or it's a great way to feel the water splash up in your face from your front tyre cos you miss that feeling when you are following someone on a wet road........or maybe you're just a dickhead?

Because as rediculous as it sounds and looks to some , they could do it and different areas had different chop styling to be different and stand apart from the next area , they have there place in history , just like high bars and fat tyres i reckon , rigid pan springers may not be so practical but rock all the same .
Evolution of styling right there hey !

Not everyone then or now wants to wear black, ride a black twin cam, give the impression of being a mean ass mofo and generally fit into the mould of 99% of harley riders, how do they stop.............back brakes. At the end of the day its not how you look or what you ride.................

Nothing but praise for the skill and effort they put into those things, but I don't want to be arriving 5 minutes after my front wheel does.....

Question one might ask, "Is it a even chopper if you don't have to look round the side of the steering head and/or tank to see where you're going?"

Yeah, I heard Sugarbear talking about Ed and he was apparently the real man in the Chopper Scene back then.
Everybody brought their bikes to him to get modded. And as Choppa said, he designed those two Wonderful looking Pans from Easyrider.
Usual thing, he died a Pauper with no recognition for what he did, from what I remember.

Seen a shmick raked trumpy chop a while back and the neck was split and fracturing to it`s owners (a mate) sheer shock and disbelief , so one can only imagin the forces applied to necks of these "way out there" stretched units when flexing ?
Like ya saying , would take some geetin used too ?
