Trying to replace some rusting bolts on a Softtail Rocker C, but having touble finding the right tools. First one we tried broke the tool bit. Thinking we have the wrong tool kit for the job. Forgive me for my ignorance, but does it have something to do with Metric sizes? I also dont want to spend $340 on the Harley Tool Kit (which is made by snapon), but rather finder a cheaper tool set that will do the job. What do people out there have for their Softtails in regards to tools?

    tah

Mate, All of the nuts and bolts (Except some selected ones like on the brake calliper) are all IMPERIAL! Don't use metric! You will not only stuff the tools, but you will stuff the bolts too!

Also get some Torx bits! You will need them!

Shop around you will get quality at a good price..what you spend on tools you save on services many times over. Spanners, ring and ratchet. Socket sets and Allen + torx sockets.

in Melbourne kinchrome has clearance store, many bargains around..have loads of snap on and blue point but these are from my apprenticeship days. You buy the best your budget allows and you will get a lifetime out of them. Also try transquip direct.com good deals often.
