Hi All,
This is moslty aimed at people with the 12.5 L nightster/iron fuel tank. I had one of these installed on my 48 recently and after a few tanks im seeing the fuel light come on at about 125k's. This is pretty early as last time i went to the servo after about 145ks and barley got 8 liters in....so still about 4 liters left in the tank.
My question is can i change the sensor to come on later? say with about 2.5 liters left? Not a huge deal but with the light on that early there is still heaps left before empty and i would rather the light comes on later.
Cheers,
Sida
I usually remember to reset to trip meter when i fill up, didnt have a fuel gauge on my old bike either so i got the habit a while back. I guess ill just ask my dealer if it can be adjusted.
my light comes on at 200k's and i still have 4.5 litres left. this is with a tank lift also.... I'm not sure if it can be adjusted.... T1
Same same - 100k+ and I have lifted the tank. Rely upon tach reset every time and fill up at the 150k mark as well
they a so untrustworthy, on my 2008 883c it can come on anywhere between 160km and 225km useless part (i just go by the ks now)
Has anyone installed the fuel level sensor? I would look into it if its any good but wont bother if its as reliable as the fuel light
My partners Sportster 883 Low has a 12.5 litre tank, the fuel light comes on around 185ks, she can get around 240ks out of a tank and there is still about another litre to go but we try not to do more that 240ks before refuelling.
i doubt i could get 200k's out of a tank considering the 1200 motor plus a few perfmance bits.....and the way i ride
after my weekend riding i dont think there is a tuning issue. I did a bit over 600k's on about 32 liters of fuel so less than 5.5L/100k's. this is 90% freeway riding. With the mods i have i think thats acceptable.
the light was still coming on with over 4 liters in the tank. oh well.
