Yeah I'm pretty confident in my bloke that tunes it ando, however I do flog it chasing jappers through the mountains and what not but second service at 5000 and will do all of em at 5000 intervals.
At the end of the day I am willing to pay the price of less ks for the more horsepower factor.
The alternative is to ride a stocker. No thanks.

Once you start chasing numbers over 100/100 thing start to go wrong because the comp ratio climbs to match the high lift cams and all the parts need to be checked. The problem with most SE builds done at dealer's is there pushed for time when fitting the parts as everything has a time limit on it. When the engine go's together things need to be checked and double checked and the most basic checks are not done because they don't have the time as the job was quoted before the engine rebuild. When I rebuilt my engine I had the top end off and on a 3 or 4 times checking deck height and valve to piston clearance etc to make sure I had it right because once on the road the piston valve pockets fill with carbon and the clearance becomes tighter and tighter then one day you miss a gear or hit the rev limiter and the piston touches a valve causing the valve to bend. I'm not sure if this is what happened to your mate bike but it could be. Don't get me wrong I'm not blaming the guy who built the engine but pointing what can happen if the motor is assembled straight out of cardboard boxes with no measurements done.

mmmmm interesting, it was done at a dealership in Sydney that does tend to throw em in and push em out the door. could well be the case
