I want to know how they can sell this bike for $8000 less than the retail price, they wouldn't be selling her below cost, so the mark up margin must be huge.

Is it a grey import? 1HD as opposed to 5HD (locally sold),

The reason that they are sooooo cheap is because there is a deal b/n Peter Stevens and HD Australia. All the remaining 2012 Road Glides are being sold as demo machnes (with 0Km's). This is allowing them to be moved as they have not being selling at the old price.

A mate of mine just got one from the Melb. store but was 2nd hand & he paid $25k plus shipping to sydney. So $24k sound like a bloody good buy.

Well with them not making these for 2014, what's the chance that they hold/increase their value as the years go on?

If your trading one then it will be worth fuck all but if you are buying one then the dealer is going to say they are a very hard to get model and it will be worth a fortune

as with any model 5 minutes after you trade it your bike goes up in value

I know for fact that some dealers (like frasers in Sydney) also heavily discounted the last of the 2013 road glides too, which were sold in 2014. Keep your eyes out for left over stock of this model when the next years' models are released. Some bargains to be had but Australian dealers might get smarter and order less volume of road glides if they can't sell them without heavy discount. But it happened again as recently as last year so what's to say it won't happen again in a few months time.
