Hi all,

I am toying with a couple of different ideas for changing my speedo and headlight position on my iron. Basically I want the speedo to sit more flat, ditch the eyebrow and relocate/replace the headlight for a more low down fat look.

The first idea is to cut up the existing stock speedo clamp and fit it to where the current headlight eyebrow fitting is and then mount the stock headlight on the triple trees. Obviously if I mounted the headlight to the trees with the fitting at the bottom the headlight would dip right rather then left. Does anyone know if the light housing can be spun around so the mounting point is at the bottom but the light still dips left?

The second idea is to still cut the speedo clamp and move speedo below but go big and fit a fatboy light or similar. Just trying to find a solid mount for the trees which doesn't protrude too far forward! I've seen a few in the states where the light sits snug within the forks and it looks pretty schmick.

So has anyone got any recommendations for parts or experience with what I've discussed above ??

The RSD speedo/headlight relocate kit might be up your alley, about $200 on ebay. Drops the headlight by about 2" & lays the speedo down flatter.

Slap.

I purchased a billet headlight from Walka at VPW, painted it to match the colour of the rest of the bike, and drilled through the bottom triple tree to mount it. Cleaned up all the wires, and relocated the speedo to the left side of the tank with the Autometer clamp. All sits flush and doesn't move about for me at all. Love it. All up cost me $400. Did the install with a friend.
