the yami looks better, more cohesive design package, the victory just has too many awkward styling cues, mainly the fenders and the ugly painted oil tank cover

Seating posi even looks uncomfortable , talk about asuming the faetal position !
No wonder it`s called the bored walk , them floorboards are seemingly way too high for me !
Some used to rave on how they now were the real american motorcycle until they talked of manufacturing parts in india themselves , anyone that has been near one could attest to how much plastic is on them , especially the big batbike tourers !

I went and had a look at the hammer LE bit over a year ago, liked the look, liked the specs, didn't like those god awful headlights, And near fell over when they told me it had to be serviced every 4000Ks to keep the warranty,, glad I kept my bike.

Alongside the heritage , but then wouldn`t ya confuse the two man , although much sweeter lookin than that boardwalk THING , i just don`t give too much of a fugg about the ol`chief fenders , like the rest of it bar the frilly bits !
Although a later donk didn`t they have problems with the old "is it Gilroy" ones before polaris aquired the brand ?

They are a MoCo just like the rest Gooone , see how long them stats last afterall who can compete with southeast asian labour markets , might be why more vehicle manufacturers are more and more all doing it in places like Thailand these days ? HD arn`t 110 year old for no reason many of their sales maybe emotive but the stats are there for all too see , state the V`brands sales in Oz why don`t ya mate , i will quoted from the usual local mags , 323 V bikes sold this year and that`s a 78% increase over last year !
HD sold 5427 bikes YTD , up from 4508 same period last year filling 8 of the top 10 cruiser spots including sellin 559 heritage softails (most popular) 557 fat bobs and and 435 wide glides , 5 of the top 10 touring spots folllowing the heritage was the roadkings , street glides and road glide customs and ultras .
Even in the USA itself global sales for the first 6 months of 2012 , the cruiser giant sold 145,391 new model units , a 9.3% increase from the corresponding 2011 period , within that is a 12% increase in " the ever patriotic USA itself ", 16.5% rise in the asia pacific region and a massive 58% rise in latin america , though on sighting the euro crisis there was a 4.5 in the European , middle eastern and african markets .
So with mounting global economic uncertainty due to the eurozone crisis how long will it be before the V`brand starts to cut corners or ramp up offshore manufacturing of more and more parts production ? It would be at ones absolutely peril as your stats suggest , to ignore the size of the booming middle class in asia also , from which you will see more brands attempt to break into and take advantage of !
Other than that weren`t the V`brand talkin of using their polaris powerplants in the Indian after a year or 2 of release in Oz ?
Victories 2 day testrides with accomodation and a tank of fuel thrown in and 23k drive away also says alot , you be the "Judge" ?

Not that attractive at all really man but like the thread suggests , plain butt ugly and not selling that well at all , otherwise they wouldn`t be trying to give them away right ?
The figures are there for all to see , though being a amuch smaller base , i`m not sure how they are stayin afloat actually when they`re only sellin 323 bikes per year here ?
As for being the purer manufactured bike in the US , like i said , let`s see how long that lasts , maybe talk it up in another century or so hey ?

Yep your right , they reckon if ya ride one , you`ll buy one , though how many people are takin up the offer and then saying , great bike guys , but thanks anyway , their sales are seemingly pretty dismal , maybe won`t be too long and they`ll start offering a full weeks accomodation , in Bali , in order to secure a few sales ?
Havn`t riden one as yet , but have looked through their Sydney Showroom and tried a few on , though due to riding 2 up a lot of the time , all but the tourers would be unsuitable for myself and i thought that although people say they do ride well , i couldn`t get past the amount of plastic and the futuristic styling !
Going by their forum , they arn`t void of problems also , you still have to accessorise them just like ya do a HD , their showroom walls are covered with accessories and merchandise for a reason , sometimes i think that the Victory forum must get a bit boring as it seems that they are constantly using HD as their benchmark , so they come for a stir and look see on the HD forum , no probs with that either , good for them i reckon , besides who gives a fuck what anyone else rides , it`s down to personal choice , experience , emotion , budget and styling tastes !
They talk their product up too , as Doc of Heavy Duty says great ride , but it didn`t quite achieve the miledge that he was quoted it should of ?

I rode one but it didn't set me World on fire. It was OK; nuthin' more or less.

More than anything it's the styling that keeps me away.

I picked up a cheap Victory from an expat yank some years ago.  It was a personal import and at the time probably one of only a couple in the country.  It was the Kingpin touring model, when I bought it home the missus commented on how ugly it was.  The saddlebags and screen looked tacked on like a bad afterthought and had pull back bars on it.  I took it to the shed and stripped everything off and fitted some wide westerns.  Then took it for a ride.  I was impressed with the motor, it went like stink.  But at the end of the day my Road king was more comfortable and suited me better.  It did cross my mind several times about shoehorning the engine into the RK.

The best part of these bikes is the motor, which is what had my interest in the first place.  They're pretty bulletproof and they go hard.  I can chug along happily on the speed limit on the RK, but on the Victory I can't help but wail that motor on song.  So I let the missus have it and ride it on the odd occasion when I need to be somewhere in a hurry.

I'm just suprised that no one has come up with HD style tinware for them.

    Guys,

    Really...it's not that bad...

    the 106 engine is reliable...well after 12000km , i have no complaints.

Before i get bagged, like both Harleys and Victories...headed down the path of a Fat Boy Lo..and ended up buying a Hammer 8 ball.

if we all like bikes, not sure what the issue is..

Doesnt have to be a all Victories are shit,,no heritage..post..

both dealerships and products have their pluses and minises...this is evident from the posts here..

Hope this is taken in the way it was written..

Hey derwin ya seem lost man , "really it`s not all that bad" , what` compared to a 103ci lowered softail , is that really what you keep telling yaself lying awake at night pondering what coulda been , tell us when it`s run in at least , how reliable it is , then again why bother as many people here just wouldn`t give a fuck about it anyway , afterall it is a HD forum and i`m just guessin that ya wouldn`t find too many victory owners praising HD on the victory forum right , though on taking a quick look a few year ago , they do seem to always try to compare the two or use HD as the proverbial benchmark for the usual baggin ?
Plus`s an Minus`s huh , name them all for us will ya , talk is cheap , though people have been relying on HD for 110 years man !
You say you like both HD and victory , you bought a victory 8 ball of hammer , hope it gets you off and you enjoy it hey , one thing is for sure though , it will never be no Harley Davidson Roadking !
