Instrument Lighting on Road Glide

I had a globe blow on the voltmeter gauge on the BargeGlide and went to Supercheap auto for another one. I mistakenly brought home a 10 watt globe instead of the 6 or 8 watt HD globes (or whatever they are).
Pulled the yellow condom off the blown one and put it on the new 10 watt globe and can now see the gauge properly in dim light.
Thought it was good so did the others as well. Any auto parts store has them. Just pull one and take it with you for the correct 'bayonet' width.

Mate forgot to say that I put the yellow condom back on the new 10w globe as I thought it might be too bright considering the batwing gauges are closer to the rider. If you do this be careful as they will tear just like any condom when strained to the limit.
As the RG gauges are further away you may not want to dim down the brightness witht he condom but you'll soon know.

Ah-- so you haven't looked behind the shark nose to find the condoms as yet? If batwings are the only faired tourers with condoms then I reckon we're special......
Let us know how it goes...
