I have noticed over the last few weeks that the throttle appears to be sticking a little when pulling up at lights etc.  It will (sometimes) take a few seconds for the revs to drop down from 2000 odd down to idle at about 1100 on the taco.  It has also happened a few times when I have had to back off the throttle whilst riding, when slowing etc making me get on the clutch a lot earlier and generally making me look like a bit of a goose.

The bike is a '10 Iron with the SE stage 1 kit.  Can anyone help me out with what could possibly be causing this?

Happened to me a couple of months ago

The throttle lock needed backing off.
I use it sometimes to warm-up the bike,
I must not have backed it right off after use.
It was JUST grabbing

Felt like an idiot when i worked it out

 I had the same prob on my iron was a iac controller easy fix $50-60

i have just started putting my sled back together and one of the "tasks" I had to do was inspect the sticking Throttle. So I took all the RH control apart, removed the cables from the TB. The butterfly valve worked as it should, freely snapping shut when let go, the cables now free at both ends appeared slightly resistive so I worked them end to end with liberal amounts of WD40 sprayed through the spout provided.

Put it all back together and it all worked fine, the throttle snaps shut like a new one, cannot say what exactly made it sticky maybe a small combination of all the contact surfaces just a little dirty, it does not take much but it took me about 2 hours al up to get it back to respectability. Just out of left field for a moment, has anybody used one of those "cable lubricators" yet? i have seen them advertised of course and wondered if they are of any value.
