Anyone have thoughts on this bike?  I popped in to Frasers in Sydney on Saturday and took it for a spin.  I can only say good god what a machine.  So much that it is a strong contender for my next ride.  Such linear power, roll on is a breeze.  Fast as hell.

Looks wise I know it doesn't suit everyone's taste, but I love it.

Anyone else ridden one?  I realize this is a Harley forum, but as much as I love HD's, I still do like other brands/styles!

Seriously tough bike, just butt' ugly in my opinion, even in real life.
A mate has one that is tricked up, and they just do everything right.

Yeah the looks of it aren't for everyone, but I absolutely love the way it looks. It's different. Although I wouldn't really call it a cruiser as some do. Riding it, however, is something else.

Pricewise it comes in cheaper than a vrod...for the base model.

Hmmm2 I'm with you on the nightrod. I do like those too....but still think I would pick this over it.

I was trying to work out if I could get another Ducati as a second bike.  I would love one of these but I think a Monster is more viable, unfortunately.

Maybe I need to be patient and save more pennies...

    Cheers,

I took one for a ride before I bought the Rod.

Very nice bike to ride, just ugly us fuck!

Cost roughly the same as the Rod as well.

I've heard thru the grapevine that the wogbike's are crap & don't last  & the electric's are fucked ,  what would one look like when it's as old as & EVO harley  there are still plenty of these older HARLEY's  on the road

i almost bought one. but for some reason changed my mind. but i'm sure they would be fun to ride,

I know if daddyracer56 got a loan of one he could possibly do quater mile in high 9's. then i know him & that would equal Love!!

only thing i'm warry of is service cost, they are almost a race motor so expect  to pay for maintainance. those desmo valves need adjustment at some point. also would be hard to ride a bike like that at the speed limit we have in this country.also whats the go on Audi owning Duc? will they get 5 rings?

What I'm reading says the Diavel is an insanely fast bike. It's actually faster than their super bike...the 1198. 0-60 is listed at 2.6s....third fastest accelerating production bike behind the VMax and the S1000RR.

Reading that, I think I'll hang on to my life for a little while longer and opt for something a little more.....civilised haha.

if you do not replace the cam belt's every 20.000 klm's your play with a very high  repair bill, & if you race one then you have to replace the engine case's each year,  they are made very light inside the engine  for a V-Twin to be that fast  but you will pay for that in the long term

    short term ?

My 96ci TC roadking is plenty fast enough for me thanks !
Like many others they`re absolute animals and big boys expensive toys but although the speadfreaks would cream over them , honestly why and where would ya ride one and for how long before it cost ya big time in one regard or another ?
They`re still a relatively naked set up and would test ya holding on techniques that`s for sure being a definate arm stretcher ?

I'm sure the engineering and quality is every bit as good as it's claimed, and the looks sure have an appeal, but riding crouched over like that is just not for me...

I agree the crouched over position with all the weight on my wrists is not for me either. I sat on one at Frasers as well and had mixed feelings. Ducati's are a fine bike but can be expensive if not maintained properly (like any bike really). I'm still thinking about upgrading next year and I'm hoping HD do something like a V Rod motor in a Touring frame. THAT I would buy in a heartbeat!!
