Currently I have the stock shocks on my Superglide Custom Dyna.

I hvae adjusted them a couple of times now for when the wife rides pillion but still they bottom occassionally.

i looked at some on ebay but its rather confusing as some are saying they are 10inch and other 12 inch etc.

What is a decent brand of shock etc to ttry to eliminate this problem.

The wife is a stick but Im a fat bastard and it doesnt bottom out when I ride it by myself.

I havent tried the maximum setting yet as I didnt want a hard ride but I may have to.

    Any help appreciated.

I'll thank Tim SG in advance :) Always got good info that bloke!

12" is stock length for FXDC 2012 . If you go for progressive , check out their website to get the correct code . They have a few different models starting with the412 series .Youtube clips from JC Motors explain the different models . I went for 430 series as the inner is chrome , cost me just over $400- delivered . When progressive say 250lb min weight for heavy duty springs they mean it ! I weigh 230lb and should have bought the standard spring . The standard rear shocks supplied on this model are shit .

thanks Tim. Hmmm2 that sounds good but I would like all chrome as the standards are chrome as is a lot of the bike. Im not sure black would suit then again they may be the go.
    Thanks again gentlemen.

Well the last shocks I had were 10.5in Burly's so the move up to these is like chalk & cheese. I don't think they're built for performance but they're damn comfortable and they keep the lowered look which I like. As a guide the bottom of the guard sits a couple of inches above top of the rim. I have mine set at 25psi for solo but I'm a bit bigger than hmmm.

I have noticed some wallowing in the corners but I need to fine tune the air.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks Deadwood. I read the thousands of replies. :)

    That bike looks smick.

Hmmm2 do you adjust your shocks at the servo or do you have a compressor at home?

ANy chance of a photo of the shocks and the airlines?

Will look into it beags, thanks for the heads up mate. It was really a test run installing the touring shocks but I'm happy with the comfort they provide so I'll look into replacing the oil. Cheers

Put some 13" shocks on and give it a bit more travel. The extra inch goes a long way ...LOL..
