Hi all. Did anyone do a count today? Seemed like more bikes than last year from the roadside. I was out with 2 of my 3 girls on Adelaide Ave. What better place for some ex-pat South Aussies to sit?

It was great to have quite a few slow and give the girls high-5's. It's still disappointing to us that 1) More people don't line the route like they do in Adelaide for their Toy Run, and; 2) that it seems the event is marketed as one for motorcyclists, but not for the public so much.

I wonder if it's just an Adelaide thing (as that and the Canberra Toy Runs are the only ones I've been to/ridden in) that the motorcyclists/pillions carry lollies for the kids on the route. I'm not sure if it happened that the kids lined the route and then the participants started slowing (or stopping) and dropping lollies into the gutter for the kids to pick up, or if the lollies came first and the kids followed. Regardless, it's much more of a motorcade atmosphere in Adelaide with thousands lining the route. It would be great to see that develop here too.

Thanks for a good run through though. We had fun even if so many Canberrans missed out on the sight.
