Short shots, tried them with standard baffle, quiet baffle and even had the quiet baffle wrapped, I do a lot of Kim's and shift work, so the noise got a bit much, putting the stock headers back on with a set of slip-ons while it's in the shop now getting some other shit done.

Running side shots on my street bob. Yeah theyre loud, but I dont think obscenely so. As said, just dont fang it too hard around town. The wife had them on her nightster and they were LOUD. She had to start wearing ear plugs. Shes got 3'' v&h slip ons on her Slim and theyre about half way between S/Eagles and side shots

I've done some testing on some mates bikes with loud pipes and they ranged fron 102db to 118db at 2800 RPM. It would be more at higher revs. Dude that's loud!!

Not quite right about the noise and no go!

VnH changed the design and the internals to bring the noise down and the power up.

Just sayin - don't believe all the crap!

I reckon go with what you want. Don't listen to us jibber on. Most after markets will be loud, but it's a Harley.

I have the V&H Big Radius 2x2 on my Fatboy. They were unbelievably loud and giving me a headache (yes, I am getting old!). DocHogs in Bayswater (VIC) fabricated a quiet baffle for me - now the deep bass rumble is still there, but that ear-splitting shrill, harsh scream at higher revs has been really toned down. I am very careful with the throttle in built-up areas though as all it takes is one irritated wanker dobbing you in to revert back to the original Harley sewing machine buzz.

I have the big radius pipes on my fatboy, they are loud and give me migrains if I don't wear ear plugs, I found the best  plugs are the silicon putty ear plugs, brand name surgipack.

I'm one of the every fucker who has short shots. stock baffles. I have the smart partz baffle and the quiet baffle on a shelf in my shed.
The short shots are loud, but not super loud. I thought they'd be louder to be honest.

If you have a lot of hard-scaping, brick walls, retaining walls garage small spaces, paling fences etc, etc, then they'll blow your hair back, but if you live in the middle of nowhere like i do, then they sound is much softer.

Short shots sound low a burbly, but i reckon the longer pipes both perform better due to better back-pressure, and sound better with a more defines "pap pap pap". Or as the Patented HD sound goes..."potato potato potato"

    Hope this helps
