    Speaking of shit....

Since changing the cams... when I go for a long ride, I need a shit when I get off. It must be something like that "Brown Note" they talk about!! :) :)

I agree with the jealousy bit. I have a mate that rides a Yamaha Warrior. Its all he could afford and more power to him for getting out on it. He slags my Harley off to no end telling me about how his Warrior is far superior to mine. I just laugh it off. I couldnt care less what a bloke rides, as long as hes out doing it.
And a story. I was out at Stanwell Tops, Bald hill the other week, stopped for a coffee when a tourist bus pulled up full of retirees. An old fella with Parkinsons came over to look at mine and a mates softails. The old fella marvelled at the two bikes. He then told us he was 89 years old and his first bike was a side valve Harley. He told us hed owned his share of triumphs, nor tons etc... but he ended up back on Harleys. They were his passion. The poor bugger passed me his camera and asked me to take a pic for him. So we stood him between the two bikes and snapped off a dew pics for him. My 25 year old mate wasnt too fazed by meeting old mate but its a Harley encounter i doubt I will forget. As said above. It is a brotherhood.

if i occasionally talk shit about a harley .. its actually about the dickhead riding it .. NOT the bike ....

same can be said for any bike

Took a C Class Merc for a test drive. It stopped and refused to start again during test. Sales guy was sweating bullets!

Everything can break. The important thing is how it is fixed. That is the true measure of a quality product and organisation.

Got fuel the other day and wife was on the back. We were leaving the petrol station when this girl said (but I didn't hear it) "piece of shit Harley"
    Wife replied "Stupid Slut!"
    Wife one
    Slut zero

If I would have heard her I would have said "I'd rather been seen riding a Harley then be seen riding you ya bush pig!"

Great story Ben, I'm sure it would have made the old fellas day, and would have brought back many fond memories for him. I love hearing stories like these.

Nah my old man has one. I hate the look and style of it. I'm loyal to Harley I wouldn't buy another brand if you gave me the money for free.

I reckon if you got onto the web you could find every make of brand new vehicles that broke down on their first outing, you shouldn't take it so hard, it feels worse when old faithful pulls the rug from under you especially cause it's probably your own fault.

Relax trev for fugg sake , yeah it`s perfectly fine mate , you got evey right to be sus on the dealer though they would have rode it , so it mustn`t of been fugged when they did or they wouldn`t have let it go as it`s not good for biz right , though it wasn`t quite like droppin a tailshaft really mate , honestly , you bought a hog , so your not quite a dickhead , though they are mass produced these days and like anything , shit happens and is likely to happen again too one day , they are meant to have a pre delivery inspection , though things can be over looked , especially these days mate but as you said it wasn`t til you used the clutch a few times and a few ks down the track til you noticed it lettin go anyway , apart from being a bit of a let down by quality control abroad on pickin up ya new ride , so long as they got you back on the road with no damage done and apologised for the trouble , what`s the beef , just coz ya spend 24k and it`s tagged HD , don`t mean your amune to this sort of thing happenning man fugg , brand new or not mate , some people spend much more than that hey , really !
Go over the fugger yourself like you did for the last 25+ years and do it regularly mate , get to know it all intimately , walk around and kick the tyres everytime ya steppin on it , you obviously know all this shit anyway , you be smiling again in no time , trust me man , find a bridge an hawl ass over it , yahoo`in as ya doin it mate , it`s good for the soul ?

Got a queery trev, You posted on nov-2012 about your bike and said you paid 24000 and its an 09 model,

that was brand new. Is that right. Maybe im reading it wrong, if you bought it in 2009, thats a loooong time to be be pissed about anything. I think i might be pissed if there was a motorcycle manufacturer in the vain of Ferrari, or Mclaren that that you paid 200,000 for but your bike is a mass produced product for a mass market. Its a bit costly cause its American made and or assembled, not cause its techically superior to any other mass brand, It just happens to appeal to enough to keep the company alive. Must appeal to me cause ive bought a few newies.
