    Hi there.

Firstly thanks to all on this site who contribute-you guys make having a Harley much easier and save us all time and money with the information-cheers.

Looking to get my hands on a set of the above pipes for my Street Bob having been pinged with Short shots by the EPA(they are obnoxiously loud almost 117db).

I've had the bike ticked off for the nazi's having stocked it -yes had to pay $50 to tell me it was legal (came in at 92 db-my wrist watch is louder!!)-but loss of performance is astounding. Hell i've hit the limiter a couple of times and almost been wiped out by cars turning as well.

My opinion- loud pipes save lives!!

So if any one has or knows of somewhere who has a set of VANCE & HINES BIG SHOT STAGGERED that will fit a 2010 St Bob in CHORME, that they would be interested in selling please let me know.I realise they will still exceed 102db legal limit.

I plan to fit baffles in them if still too loud-but would have to surmise that the short shots are cop magnets and just that bit too noisy.

Having said that i will have a set of Short Shots in chrome for sale soon if anyone interested.

    Thanks

    Bukowski

    Cheers Max..
Seems the V twin E bay site has closed.
Been told the baffles for short shots make very little difference.

make a set of mutes up for them. I put one in my 2:1 big radius and made a heap of difference. comes out in minutes with 1 small bolt when I want the full noise.

Hey oxymax, I have a baffle on order for my 2:1 BR (2012 fatbob). Had to put the standard pipes back on after EPA notice. Got it inspected yesterday...a whopping 88db - look out!! So you think they make a big difference?? I plan to put the BR back on, and fit the baffle. Only problem is they are a bit of a cop magnet. Plan on giving it one more go then if I get done again I'll change to something a little less obvious (in NSW by the way).

    Cheers

I couldn't find a baffel for the V&H 2:1 so I had a mute made, makes a heap of difference for round town and the 5.30 am leaving home. 1 minute to remove it and the weekends out are all good. Started with 3 holes and ended up at 9 to sound ok for me, 3 rows of 3. If I needed less noise for an inspection I can just remove it and put a hose clamp over 1 or 2 rows of holes and refit it for the test.

worked for me. but as it turns out it isn't my invention
after I worked out what I wanted and how to do it I drew it up and went the the exhaust shop to get them to make it in SS. They said so you want a mute, could have just gone there in the first place since they knew all about it and make them mostly for dirt bikes.
