Got a phone call from a mate to come over and check out his new bike he just finished . very flash s&s motor panchu frame all lowered and streched and every custom bits and pieces that you can think of .I gave him a blank look and said what is it ? he told me what its made up of and when finish i again asked what is it  ? he looked at me kind of strange and said a harley .i said no its not he said yes it is .ok i said point to one thing that is harley and he couldnt so its not a harley . it might as well be a honda its just a copy of a harley . he was not happy with me .ive been waiting 25 years to get that cunt back for stirring me up over an old AMF shovel he youse to put shit on me about not being a real harley . it made me think about the guys on big bear choppers and other harley clones . How can they claim to ride harleys, wereing a black tee shirt with harley dont make it so

I was considering an American Ironhorse (Texas), outside of the v-twin, not close to any Harley, yet people I have shown, all call it a Harley.
The purchase price to AU reg is up to $25,000 that also will bring it inline with a Harley

This is tough, bikes and cars, cant really compare. Heaps easier to call a VL Calais with skyline engine a Holden than it is to call a harley frame with Aftermarket engine etc. a harley. Hear this from alot of non riders, see any cruiser and call it a harley. Shits me. I reckon if you bought a Harley, be it Softail, Dyna, whatever then changed out the engine and parts over time yourself, then its still a harley. If you flick through a hundred catalogues and get parts from all over with a couple harley parts sprinkled in and build a bike.. its not a Harley, just a custom bike. A fucken Frankenstein hahaha

when ya cant ride em round a corner, i understand its a hobby but some of them custom bikes are pieces of shit to me. my bike, like most on here is built to be riden not fucken trailered around and looked at.

It's down to the bendix gear in most custom situations.

Old mate has a VERY stylish chopper for under 40k ready to go.

Personally I do not understand how the MOCO can up sell a rocker etc etc and it has little % of resale vale.

I'd loose my left one to astride one of ol'mates staunch and sorted choppers.

 I have heard of Invite to Daytona BW etc where some builders bikes do not run or ride where buyers are fucked over .
